I am changing my tune..... The only thing positive about Etling's play on Sat. was he didn't LOSE the game. Ran well and didn't fumble. Chark bailed him out on 1 of his passes. Seems like when drive is needed and game is on the line he does great - been there and done that kind of thing. I'm giving him the Auburn game before I'm ready to pass the torch to our freshman sensation. The team resonates around him and he's tough as they get even w limited talent. Let's take our chances. Who knows? He may surprise everyone this Sat. in a good way....

An Etling Bandwagon?

Nah, I'm okay right here.

His ceiling might not be high, but I think we can win games with him if he other players make plays like we know they can. I also think he will do much better in the home game against Auburn.

Last week was a piss poor performance by Etling. He has always played better than that. I hope he bounces back his regular self.

If that game changed your tune on Danny I don’t know what to tell you, he played awful. He likely deserved 3-4ints 2 of which could have been for 6. The he takes care of the football crap is a misnomer.

If one of those goes for 6 and we lose, do you start this thread praising him for those gutty 5 yard runs?

and which drive did he come alive for when the game was on the line Saturday ?

Dude one WR had a catch on Saturday. ONE!!! And that was actually an INT that Chark took away.

Etling is a liability.

No. The longer he pace-cars us the longer we are mediocre to bad overall. But I like the kid.

But, but, but he takes a hit like a champ. Apparently that's all it takes for you to garner All-SEC votes around here instead of you know...passing the ball to wide open receivers and shite.

Danny is probably the toughest QB we have had this century. He doesn't have all the dazzle that Mett had or the 80 yard cannon that Russell had. But he's tougher than both of those guys. I wish him the best going forward and I'm very grateful for his loyalty.

When the only nice things you can say about his game are intangibles....well that’s not good.

I don’t understand how Danny is loved, but JJ is regarded as one of the worst ever. I was no JJ fan, but I’d take him over Etling, FACT

Ofcourse, he's our leader on the field. I don't know that he gives us our best chance to win. That is up to the coaches.

I'd take Jefferson over etling everyday Etling couldn't start at Purdue for fricks sake.

We very clearly lacked leadership on the field for 3 full games in a row. He's not making that much of a difference there.
