I thought I read somewhere that no visiting-freshman quarterback ever got out of Tiger Stadium with a win, but I can't find that now. True? Anyone already have the research or link to it?

But we got him his junior year with arguably worse defense.

Chris Leak, playing with a bruised right shoulder, was sacked four times and finished with a career-low 107 yards passing. He completed 11-of-30 passes.
Final LSU 21 - UF 17.

Leak came in as a true freshman with Ron Zook's Florida team in 2003 and handed LSU and Saban their only loss of the season, 19-7.

Leak was at UF from 2003-2006.

Quincy Carter coming in for David Greene in 2003 for a couple series might be the most fun I've ever had as a fan screaming at an opposing player.

That kid was so fricked

Meant Shockley but I'll leave it :this:

So it's been 13 years since a true-freshman QB won in Tiger Stadium.

I'm ready to see what Aranda and co has cooked up for Hurts.

FIFY

Ugly game. We must've had 5 or 6 turnovers and was the only reason the score was that close.

Nope. Carter destroyed Lou Tepper's defense in 1998.

"The freshman [Carter] played an almost flawless game Saturday night, completing 27 of 34 for 318 yards and two touchdowns as No. 12 Georgia beat No. 6 LSU 28-27 Saturday night.

Carter quieted the huge Tiger Stadium crowd by leading Georgia (4-0, 2-0 Southeastern Conference) to touchdowns on its first three possessions and 436 total yards.

That stat breakdown would be useful in predicting absolutely zero about how Hurts will perform Nov. 5th.

Perhaps the stat was limited to the Les Miles era only? No true freshman QB has beaten LSU in Tiger Stadium since Leak in 2003.

The numbers really aren't very meaningful though. As far as I can tell, there has only been 4 true freshman QBs in the SEC who have played at Tiger Stadium. Casey Clausen got beat in 2000 and Chris Leak won in 2003. Casey Dick got beat in 2005 and Jacoby Brissett lost in 2011.
