Anyone else not care about the Heisman focus?

Feels like these Heisman campaigns overshadow the much bigger prize. It would be a nice topping but it can't be one of the team's objectives.

I agree, it would be icing if we win the ship, but I am much more focused on this team winning a championship.

IMO, if we win the ship, LF wins heisman

As do I. But feels like there's too much focus on it. Who cares if he wins the Heisman. Let's talk about winning the conference. LF probably agrees.

Only 1 minor problem, Heisman is announced a month before the Championship.

And the players probably disagree. I'm certain that every player on the team, especially the offense, wants Leonard Fournette to win the Heisman. Fournette knows he can't win it without help from his teammates, and his teammates know it too. Individual awards can be great motivators, and not just for the individual who is up for the award.

It's not very often all media outlets finger themselves over one of our guys. I'll enjoy it and hope it gets even better

The whole thing is a beauty contest. Having a bonafide Heisman candidate is very important to that beauty contest. It does nothing but help to team achieve its goals.

When did the team announce this? Maybe you shouldn't try to create something that's not there. This team clearly knows what the team objectives are...SEC Championship...National Championship. I believe every single player on the team would agree. Can't you just enjoy the accolades of a great performance by one of our players?

You are right; and I appreciate what he did yesterday and the week before.

But right now; LF7 is winning at this point

I really want LF7 to win it.

Best case scenario.....we win ship, lf7 gets 2nd place in trophy. Comes back angry and hungry for more. Gets trophy next year and wins us back-to-back ships!!!!!

That's dreaming real big. But hey, 228 rushing yards has me giddy.

I don't think Nick Saban ever wanted a player as badly as he wanted LF. He personally recruited him and established a great relationship withBuga and his family. He was very confident (and with his track record of zeroing in on la top recruits and getting them, why wouldn't he be?).

Getting LF to sign withLSU was one of the defining moments in Miles's career. The LSU PTB should knock themselves out campaigning for LF IMO.

It's a nice accolade and it's great for marketing the program.
The implication being made by The OP is that it's somehow a distraction to the team and the coaching staff or that LSU Nation may have to choose between an individual award and team success.
I think LF7 can enjoy all the awards that come with playing, and the team goals won't be compromised by it.
If you don't like the cheesy award show in December don't watch

Fournette doesn't seem to care.

And we/he is all the better for it.

Win the championship, and the rest will come.

You didn't and I wasn't referring to the op when I wrote it.
I was just speaking to all the negative stuff over the years written and spoken about the award itself.
I'm personally not a fan. Would certainly watch if buga was on it though.
