'm Platinum Premier with Marriott, they would have refunded me either way so I wasn't worried about it. But they technically didn't have to refund anything.

They refund you if you cancel 24 hours before, despite your platinum premier status that no one cares about

So far screwed on airfare. They want 200 per ticket to change flight. Each ticket was roughly 185. So just eating the cost there and getting a new flight home.

Pretty much the same thing here. I booked flights to Charlotte because they were cheaper, but now because I didn't book to Columbia I can't get my money back? Complete bullshite. frick American Airlines if I don't get a refund. They originally wanted me to pay $200 to change it which was stupid. $320 is alot of money to just throw away for someone that is just out of college.

Not if your reservation was advance purchase, or had cancellation policies of 3 days in advance like mine did. In situations like this, they are typically willing to work with you; and moreso if you carry status with that hotel or airline.

1. You're not going to get a refund. At most you'd get credit for future travel.
2. You can call again and speak politely to an agent, explaining that following landing, you were going to an area that is within your affected travel zone and would appreciate consideration in waiving the change fee.

Delta gave me full value of my flight for future travel within the next year by calling and speaking to someone for 6 minutes.

No service charge of $200 per ticket? thats what they told me. Credited the rest within a year. Full refund was only if you book another trip within 4 days.

I was flying into Charleston and out of Columbia, which both airports were under their weather waiver through the weekend.

Donate your hotel room to somebody in South Carolina who just lost their home and all of their possessions.

People need to listen to golfer.

I cant believe how many people cant talk their way into refunds. Geez. You speak politely, do not demand anything. You ask what can they do not what will they do. Always speak to a person in the escalation department IF the person is unwilling to do anything. But once again dont be rude.

I mean hell I could probably have free internet for a lifetime if I wanted to. lol

cheaper advance purchase rate that many of them do that allows no refunds.

We did this but I'm gonna call later and see if they will refund anyway. I suspect I'll be able to.

1 is understandable, but I'm not about to pay $200 just to be able to get some money for a flight later.

The lady I spoke to was actually really nice, and it was a very friendly conversation we had. Its just the way that AA handles their customer service, all refunds are handled through email requests. She seemed positive that they would get me something, but I hate having to wait till maybe next week.

Ask them if you can refund your flight for points. They have points because I fly with them. See if they will give you points that equal the flight for a travel within in a year.

So via priceline?

Still, my comment had to do with marriott and the guy who thinks his points status means something

You don't want a refund. You want the value of your ticket used for future travel.

No. Via hotel chain. Not all are 24-hours in advance.

As someone with status for two hotels, two airlines, and a rental car company, it certainly does help. They'll bend the rules more often for their frequent travelers.

I'm shooting for the stars here cause I have flown twice in like the last 10 years. I'm mainly just hoping for someone to give me a call and we can discuss all the options.
