Anyone caught in Governor Gump's Blockade/Near Riot?

Walking around stadium to get to seats, convoy of black suburbans pulls up with cop escort, stops. Cops shut down people from walking by so Governor Gump and his royal party can get out. Cool.
Freakin 5 solid minutes later the fricking idiots still haven't gotten out of the vehicles, crowd is stacking up by the hundreds maybe thousands and finally just starts spontaneously pushing through while cops screaming to halt. Was pretty damn chaotic.
Good god Edwards, you simple, stupid wretch. Just get the frick out of the car and get to your fricking suite already.

I was hoping that one trooper would actually pull out the pepper spray just so I could see the shitshow ensue.. Embarrassing to have officers yell and scream at 70+ year old men because they are trying to get to their seats..

Dude, it was even parents walking with their small children just trying to get through. It gets pretty narrow in that spot with nowhere to go.

I'm perplexed by all the down votes without a single commentary on why..
If you saw it then you'd know that it was ridiculous.. I'm no security expert but one would think, sitting in your vehicle for 5 minutes while a crowd gathers and gets irritated is not the correct call.. Just get out and walk to the suites entrance a whole 15 feet from your vehicle..

Troopers and other police were not on same page.
they kept yelling at me to move. I would ask where should i go. answer- i don't know, just move, he's coming. so i move and get told the same thing three times.
My 5 yo is looking at me like WTF...
I'm just trying to follow orders and not get body slammed.
I wasnt really worried, my wife knows where to meet me if something like that happens, but it stressed the boy out for a short time.
That is such a choke point by gate 11 and 12 just past the east upper ramp anyway.

It was pretty bad for that window of time. The crowd was pushing us, me holding one kid's hand, wife the other kids hand, passing by one cop yelling full-bore to stop. I'm thinking "we can't fricking stop you fricking moron" and trying to walk while keeping an eye on my family. He shut the walkway down right after we passed and I saw people pleading with him that their group was ahead of them cut off.
Relatively speaking, for an otherwise wonderful day on campus, it was pretty tense.

Say what you will about David Vitter, he's a regular guy and would NEVER have done anything like that.
Dude lives in a modest, suburban home and his home phone number is in the phone book. Having spent a lot of time around him in public and private, I can't ever recall seeing any sort of security detail around him.
And it's not like a state governor is the U.S. president. They're about equal in stature to a U.S. Senator.
