Anybody want to give credit to the opposing pitcher that had ERA of 1 this year?

Old baseball saying. Good pitching beats good hitting.

He had his very own strike zone, I'm not giving more credit than what he's gotten already.

We had a closer go 7 innings on us.

That's not good on our behalf. It's not like we werent getting him into trouble over and over and over again...then of course bailing him out with a popout or Rhymes coming up to bat

A starter turned reliever and a guy that has gone as long as 6.2 innings in relief recently. Kid was throwing over 90 in the 7th inning at 110 pitches. He will be a starter next year. A very good one.

Yep, and it's not like they didn't have chances, 20 LOB is just too much to overcome..

:) :) Not ALWAYS true, huh! Got a kick out of a Hog friend of mine who posted congrats to the hogs for having the best team era in the nation. Where did that get them? Not even winning the regional. In fact, it was their pitching that blew it there! A wild pitch on an intentional walk???? hahahahahaha....

+1. Terrible to have a power-hitting team like LSU restricted to playing in a modified corn field where fences were moved into the next farmer's field. Ibarra would have been a star had it been in a field like the Box.

No...really? You can't figure out the saying refers to a "good hitting team" and not the performance in that game. The assumption is that the good pitching makes the hitters look bad.

The guy put 13 LSU runners on base in 7.0 innings of work. UNC was begging LSU to beat him.

Anybody who knows baseball can plainly see that our hitters had the wrong approach at the plate and never adjusted. That part of it had nothing to do with the pitching.

Anybody that knows baseball can plainly see that the hitters had a fine approach yesterday. If we get a couple hits with RISP we win.
