Family and I were digging out some of my grandfather's old things now that he's passed on and we found a rolled up poster in a random closet. Seems to be a copy of a signed Paul Dietzel watercolor of Tiger Stadium. I've tried to look it up and can't find any info on it. Anybody know exactly where this came from? Appreciate it if y'all know anything. It's getting framed and put on a wall ASAP.

What information are you trying to find out?

It is (or at least I thought it was) well known that Dietzel was an artist. He did watercolors, just like what you say you have.

It says to be announced, but you can look at the others and get an idea of cost. Maybe you can contact someone from that site.

Awesome find. Antiquetiger (who posts on this board) usually is full of good info about this stuff.

Coach Dietzel painted as stated and he did this painting and had a copy of it put in his book as a tribute to the 1958 team. Those prints could be purchased from his site that was posted and some people got them when he was doing a book signing and I believe they were giving a few away. I had mine signed a few years ago and love it. Don't come across them as much as you would think.

I think Rick would give you $15.00 for it. He would have to get it framed and no telling how long it will sit in the shop.

I've got the same print framed. LSU was giving them out near the west stadium gift shop a number of years ago. I was just a kid at the time so it has probably been almost 20 years. I'm not sure why we were even there, but I don't think it was for a football game.

I have one that was given to me as a gift with no COA. I had it matted and framed thinking it was signed. It was not. I took it out and got Coach to sign it and got it re framed. Came out nice

It's not particularly rare or valuable. My guess would be in the $50-$75 range. Yours already has some spots on it. Frame it and enjoy it.

Is it a print of a water color or is it an original water color?

I was lucky enough to meet Coach Dietzel about a year before he died. I bought one from him and he signed it personalized to me. Definitely the jewel of my LSU memorabilia. Framed and in my office, I get to admire it daily. Truly a class act, God rest his soul. An absolute Tiger great!

My mother in law paints water color with his daughter in South Carolina. She paints water color which he also did after he retired. She got me a copy of his book with a personal message as a wedding gift. He also included several water color prints autographed as well.

It is just a copy (copyright symbol). It is not very valuable, $50 IMO. It's not signed by him either (sig is a print).
