Like how he's doing so far at practice? Interested in any news. Very highly rated CB coming in.

LSU rising junior Ed Paris is getting the first-team reps in place of injured starting cornerback Kevin Toliver, and mid-year enrollee Saivion Smith is currently a backup cornerback the Tigers will “rely on,” LSU secondary coach Corey Raymond said Monday while watching the team’s pro day.

Smith, a highly touted defensive back from Florida, has been turning heads as a backup cornerback.

“He’ll be one of the guys we’re going to rely on,” Raymond said.

Progressing nicely and hanging with the vets. You have to understand that I don't remember our secondary being this loaded since the 2011 season.

He's currently behind Tre White at that outside CB position but I think we may see him at that nickel role as well.

A player you'll see get significant playing time this year and as early as the 2nd game vs JackState.

Also have to account for the fact that he should still be in HS.

DBU is in good hands once we will lose some key starters after this season. Few off the top of my head.

He fits the mold on Patrick Peterson looked his freshman year. Not saying he'll live up to those expecatations but he looks like he can play.

Yea I think Fulton will play a lot this year. Could jump ahead of Savion at some point in the fall. DBU looks good

Savion is more of a safety than a corner

That's a horrible comparsion. TM came in as a 3 star unknown who played like a 5 star on the field.

Savion is coming in as LSUs #1-2 rated recruit and has the ability to perform like it. That's why Peterson is a much better comparsion. He fits everything Peterson was coming into LSU

Except He is nowhere near as fast and explosive as Peterson. Peterson ran a 4.34 at NFL combine. Not only that but he played fast as well. Savion doesn't have that straight line speed. He would be hard pressed to run in the 4.5's at the combine. TM also got his 4th star on rivals during his senior year after we offered at summer camp by the way. He wasn't highly rated at all when he committed but they gave him a bump

I've watched a lot of his high school highlights. Peterson was much more of a pure cover guy. Savion was used in a much different way in high school. A lot of blitzing and bump and run coverage. I think he will be a good player, but I don't think he will be on PP7 or TM7's level. After all, not many players are. I hope he balls out tho and creates turnovers like he did in high school

Can't we all just get along. Dudes already awesome because he chose to wear a gold hat instead of one of those ugly red ones with the numbers on each side of them

No! Savion Smith reportedly struggled against top high school WRs in man coverage. Patrick Peterson made every WR his bitch. No comparison. And just to make it easy on you, you probably will never see another LSU corner " in Peterson's mold".

He'll probably play a role similar to Mycah Eugene/ Honey Badger.

TM7 was not an unknown 3 star. He was one of the top recruits in the state and a 4 star on most sights. This has been proven right again and again...
