I'm trying to understand the strategy involved.

We have do e it for years and it usually works. I can remember a true freshman in joe barksdale linining up as the guy slightly in the backfield.

Yes. It was horrible.

I think we would've moved the chains by just sneaking over the top with Jennings - and they would've actually seen the ball.

Our heavy set was very heavy. Made the ags on the other side look like children.

Was a first down.

Hated the call.

we've been doing it for a few yrs now, first with JJ, then Ware last yr, and now Jennings. generally works (glaring exceptions being late vs. Bama last yr and yesterday). I think it was implemented after we got stoned on short yardage plays to the RB a few times in 09 with our then-horrendous run blocking.

liked the call; liked the fact they put Jennings in. I hate the power formation.

IMHO, get in the spread shotgun with 2 backs. give your talent and/or power room to run.

I also loathe the bunch power I with 1 receiver. worked better against A&M than other teams, but for gosh sakes! instead of -2 to 3 yards we were running for 0 to 5 yards. met and obj/landry had

to bail us out over and again on 3rd down. They did a heckuva job. but let me give cam credit. We did at least pass out of the power formations more than normal. it was more creative.

Leading the nation in third down conversions might have had something to do with it.

I had a bigger issue with running Magee in goal line..just think backs like Hill and Hilliard are better options

Rewarding the RB that got to the 1. I didn't mind it.

it seldom works well. not from what I've seen. it doesn't leave any room for the qb or back to run.

actually I like Magee from in close, he has a way of burrowing for yds at the end of plays that I don't think the bigger backs bring.

I just thought the alignment looked odd. Not a negative question. More for knowledge of attempting short yardage. I agree that he actually achieved the necessary distance.

We've converted 4th and short and goal line plays multiple times with Jennings sneaking it with that formation.

If we had run the option to the wide side of the field from that formation, it would have been a TD. There was NO ONE to stop Hilliard if Jennings had to pitch the ball.
