Cliff notes: Kelly's agent contacted LSU. Jimbo still our guy.
He's been my #1 choice since the "Miles is gone" stuff really ramped up.
Chip Kelly is my #1(a) and Jimbo is my #1(b).
Either way, I feel confident LSU will come away with a damned strong coach and a damned strong coaching staff for 2016.

Chip Kelly would be the single greatest hire in LSU football history, even better than Saban in 2000.
Look at Saban's losses the last 3 or 4 years and see what he still can't figure out how to stop when done well, even this year. Then note what Kelly runs.
Guy's an excellent football coach, and his failings in the NFL are not even as a coach, but as a personnel director. He still has a winning record, and that's compiled with a set of QB's named Bradford, Foles, Sanchez and Barkely. No easy task in that league. But his personnel decisions even outside QB were very poor when he wrested control this year. But even that is not a criticism given that only 1 or 2 coaches in NFL history have mastered both coaching and personnel, Saban not included.
His offense does have a fatal flaw in the NFL which he may be realizing, and that is he can't run the QB as part of the offense, at least if he expects him to play 16 games. The lack of run threat from the QB allows NFL defenses to play him differently and he'll never achieve the level of success on that side of the ball as in college.
But he's one of those guys that is obsessed with football, lives, eats and breathes it, like Belichick. He's intense, driven and tries to stay on the cutting edge. And we know, the dictatorial style works in college. One other thing to point out, I know it was at a small school, but he had success at another college head job, it wasn't just Oregon where he won.
All that said, be shocked if we get him.

Don't be.
USC isn't an option; the SC program hates him. VaTech and South Carolina aren't big enough programs, IMO. Kelly isn't getting another NFL HC gig.
So, he either tries to rebuild Miami - which is possible - or he sits out the 2016 season.
... LSU is a top-10 job; when Saban retires / leaves Alabama, LSU is immediately a top-5 job.
Chip Kelly would gleefully take this job if he could.

As if players would be kept in the look anyway. He definitely has friends on here blasting anyone that suggests he is a fraud

There were numerous magazine articles, including a lengthy one by S.Illustrated, just before & after Kelly left the Ducks that made it crystal clear both he & the administration there were tired of each other. S.I,'s indicated that Kelly detested the non coaching responsibilities of being a HC & pissed off all the boosters, who tired of his boorish antics as well. People can change but it's evident that Kelly tired of college football there at the end. He has ZERO personality as well.

No to Chump Kelly. The guy has no comprehension of a defense and u dont win in our conference without it. Plus he would bolt first chance he got. Something swarmy about him. Not a good fit at all and doubt he would be seriously considered by any of the people responsible for the hiring. Popular with the 25 year old and under crowd. No frickin thanks.
