All I heard about this kid coming in is how he can light up the scoreboard from the outside. He has really struggled shooting the ball over the last 4-5 games. I'm not a basketball guru and I know slumps happen in all sports. But I find it hard to believe someone can just forget how to shoot. Is it an injury? Mental? What do the Rant experts say?

Personally, I think he is putting a lot of pressure on himself to score. Hopefully Hornsby's return will ease some of that pressure and he can relax a bit.

Hornsby will be inserted back into the starting 5 and Blakeney will come off the bench and tear it up. Just watch.

Blakeney is a 6'4" guard who for the first time in his life is going up against guys who 6"6, 6"7" who can be just a good as he is. It's a big adjustment. He's too good of a scorer to be held down all season. I think he probably got a little over-confident playing some really bad teams early. He'll come around. Great players usually do.

You can't compare him to Simmons though. That guy is just a different animal altogether. We've seen great Freshman scorers, great Freshman athletes, but it's hard to remeber a guy with such a great understanding of the game at such a young age. His basketball IQ is better than a lot of NBA vets.

It's definitely 99% mental.

He'll be fine. He just needs to settle in and find his role. Players that hyped up often come in trying to prove everyone right and trying to do too much. (A la fournette), he'll get better as the year goes on.

Hopefully he decides to stay another year and hone his game (although I doubt it)
