Antonio Blakeney and the draft

Is it safe to safe the Antonio Blakeney will return if he continues to play the way he is now? Everyone knows he is a good player and his ceiling is very high due to his athleticism and jump shot (although this hasn't showed so far). Hopefully he uses this season as a wake up call, returns next year, and becomes the player he is supposed to be. His issue right now is confidence, which he will find again. I'm just wondering on what the tRant thinks will be his outcome after the tourney run.

Blakeney is not even a good college player at this point. NBA??? Really???

He's going to turn it on this weekend. He's returning to his home state Saturday and I have a feeling he's about to catch fire.

word on the stereo is that Ben is staying to get his degree

Let's just say, I hope he's been going to class.

I'd assume Antonio stays at this point. Still has some work to do. I think he can still be a great player for us so I'm hopeful he sticks around.
Coach hasn't given up on him at all. Still plays a lot of minutes so no reason to think he isn't happy with the situation he is in.

Basketball rule...if you make it past the semester break, your good

IF Ben stays, than that would be awesome
However, I see the Lakers having the first pick in the draft which would be hard to turn down

The NBA has very little to do with how well of a college player you were or are.

yes, I understand, the NBA drafts on potential.
But a player has to show some level of productivity to demonstrate that potential. And I haven't seen that yet from Blakeney.

We are 2 games into sec play. Nothing is safe to say yet.

Come on man, you serious?

We need him to come back just as bad as he needs to for himself. He could be serious next year. Remember TQ's fresh to soph leap.

People really don't understand the NBA draft.
There are overseas players that average 5 points and 3 rebounds a game that are lottery picks.
Skal Labissiere is still projected top 5 and he's averaging 9 points and 3 rebounds in college.
People who can't see Blakeney's immense upside are beyond ignorant. Plays amazing D and he is highly explosive and has a good stroke. His jumpshot has not been falling ever since the Thanksgiving week games, but its a pretty stroke.
