3rd down conversions
2013 #03 59.9%
2012 #61 40.2%
2011 #32 44.7%
2010 #74 38.0%
2009 #71 38.1%
2008 #64 38.8%
2007 #12 46.6%

Also of note, the AU game marked the first time in LSU history with 4 straight 400+ yard games, UGA continuing the trend. These numbers will take a dent with MSU, UF and OM coming up but so far Zach has been tremendous, the hopes of the team now entirely riding on his shoulder for now. Here's to Chief solving the D issues to get back to ATL.

man, that is a pretty damn impressive trend...says a lot about how well we are doing on first and second downs too....

Not sure this represents another perspective, yet Cameron has impacted all areas of the offense.

By 'another' I meant presented here on TD...poor wording on my part.

But you see the point.

Has to be at the top of the list for the Broyles award if this keeps up.

Indeed.

I think it's a good indicator of how Mett's confidence has sky rocketed in this offense. He's not afraid to make a big throw on 3rd down and has faith in his receivers.

Oh man, no doubt, gotta be a shoe-in. This 3 game stretch will tell us a lot.

It's nice to see 3rd&7 as not a big deal, a 3rd&3 as a quick slant or runoff tackle, each equally effective.

e d just needs to figure out how to get the plays in quicker. Uga was snapping the ball and our safeties werent even getting half the d lined up.

But yeah i was excited by the cam hire, the results are just lagniappe.

Cam Cameron's highly productive offense has ruined our defense.

When was the last time we had a OC to really coach and teach a quarterback?

I would say Jimbo, 2000-2006. Certainly not Crowton, JJ didn't have any pocket presence and could barely make more than one read but there was very little improvement during his time here. Lee I thought the more talented of the two, could have used more help with the mental aspect, especially handling pressure, but it doesn't look like he got it. A healthy Krag, who knows, since we didn't get a healthy Krag. It's a shame we didn't have a top notch guy from 08-12 but it's a done deal now.

Due to all the juniors coming out Chavis has a lot of puzzle pieces to figure out. Hopefully we can get through this next 3 game stretch and Chief have it ironed out for November and UA, A&M and Hogs.

Jimbo was OK, but the reason I didn't like him much is when we played a good team he played not to lose instead to win. He has improved at FS.

Make that 6 straight 400+ yard games and an elite CFB QB. Can't wait to see the show against a great UF D.

In all my years of watching LSU football, the offense has never been this good. Just wish we hadn't lost all those juniors on defense to the draft

How many of those juniors start or have significant playing time? 4? 5? Damn, I'm with ya... Oh well, we have what we have. The UF game will tell a lot about our chances against UA and ATL.

here's a perspective:

Without Cam we would be plummeting to the West Division cellar.

Just a thought I have had about Cameron.... any possibility, after his firing from the Ravens, that, in friendly discussions with CLM, he suggested that he would like to work with Mettenberger recognizing his talent & potential? We may owe some credit to Zach & the incredible receiving "duo" for getting Cam to LSU.

Sure hope the receivers stay & that Cam sees great potential in Jennings et al.
