I coached Middle School baseball several years ago when Jazz was either a 7th or 8th grader. We rolled through everybody and it wasn't fun. All I kept hearing about was how Good West Feliciana was...and I truly didn't understand. We walk out to the field and there is a legit 6'1 kid throwing BP...his name was Jazz. He proceeded to mow kids down Danny Almonte style, then won the game 2-0 on 2 solo homeruns from him.

Jazz is a name you just don't know forget, I've kept up with him some over the years and knew he would be a stud.

Ok, Ok.

Compliment - I have only seen 2 WR's recently make that kind of grab. Both went on to become 1st Round NFL Probowl Receivers. Odell and Julio.

Not sure what it has to do with football, but you get an upvote anyway. I really like boats.

Saw him play against Kentwood a couple years ago when West Feliciana had him and his brother on their team. I remember thinking he would play on Sundays. Amazing leaping ability, great hands and he was every bit of 6 ft. 4 or more.

Hey, we got runningbacks that can make those catches.

Looking forward to the game. Take it easy on our little ole' slow FCS players. ;)

Maybe...Craig Davis did it and he really was not that good(clarification being 1st RD material) when he was here...at least not compared to Bowe and Doucet

It would be a lot more likely that he could fall somewhere in the first 4 rounds.

Michael Clayton 15th overall
Devery Henderson 50th overall
Skylar Green 125th overall
Dwayne Bowe 23rd overall
Craig Davis 30th overall
Early Doucet 81st overall
Brandon Lafell 78th overall
Rueben Randle 63rd overall
Odell Beckham 12th overall
Jarvis Landry 63rd overall

Hell even James Wright was drafted and he rarely saw the field in games much less actually got targeted while here.

Not as impressive. Still a great catch but he did not get nearly as much air.

Dude... GET THE FUK OUT with that garbage. Buster Davis was money. Legit 3rd down conversions and incredible hands.

You should not take so many liberties with a post.

I said he was not a 1st Round Caliber Receiver.

Plenty of good players do not get drafted Round 1.

Horse shite.

He had the best hands on the team. He had great hands and was a great route runner. That dude had no fear. Whatever the antithesis of alligator arms is, that describes Buster Davis. He took monster hits on 3rd downs in the middle of the field and never let go.

He was also fast (4.46 combine) and a good athlete (see return abilities including a TD).

He had injury issues and never seemed to get his career on track, but he was a legit talent.

Him not being a consistent NFL receiver was a pretty big surprise to me. He seemed to have it all to be a reliable guy in the league.

ETA:

6'1" 200 lbs
4.46 40
Great hands
7th all time at LSU in receptions and yards (while playing with NFL studs)

And he was selected 30th. Not top 5 or something.

Senior Bio on LSUsports.net
quote:

SENIOR SEASON (2006)
Doubled as a reciever and punt returner for the Tigers ... Considered to have the best hands on the team ... LSU’s “go-to” guy on third down situations ... Rarely dropped a pass ... Emerged as LSU’s punt return man against Kentucky and held the job the remainder of the year ... Teamed with Dwayne Bowe and Early Doucet to form one of the nation’s premier receiving corps ... Finished year with 56 catches for 834 yards and four scores ... Ranked seventh in the SEC in receptions per game (4.67) and eighth in receiving yards per game (69.7) ... Capped career with four catches for 50 yards against Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl ... Against Mississippi State, recorded his first career 100-yard receiving game, pulling in six catches for a 101 yards and a touchdown ... Also had touchdowns in the Tigers’ victories over Tennessee and Fresno State ... Caught a career-high eight passes for 85 yards against Florida ... Also a standout on the Tigers’ punt return unit, he averaged a team-high 12.9 yards per return ... Returned his first career punt for a touchdown against Fresno State going 77 yards for the score.

Hindsight is 20/20, but he had all the makings of a very reliable and talented wide receiver in the NFL.
