I think:

1. 2011 national champs
2. 2012 national champs
3. 2013 we go 11-2 with a win in NY6. Don't lose to ole miss
4. Gunner Kiel comes to lsu and starts 2014-16 seasons. I think he takes us to the playoffs in 15 and 16.
5. Miles is still hc
6. Better recruiting

What if OK State would have beat us and made us the laughing stock of the country!?!?!? Miles gets fired 3 years ago and we already have another Natty with Jimbo as head coach!!!!

Why? we still play Bama that year and they still have TJ Yeldon.

Because LSU clearly missed out on his talent, right?

LSU wins the NC in 2011 over OSU. After that, nothing else really changes.

LSU wasn't changing their offense in 2012, so I don't see how that year turns out any different (unless you think winning the title in 2011 somehow prevents LSU from getting in their own way at UF or figuring out how to get a stop late against Bama)

Maybe the NC in 2011 keeps Stud as the OC in 2013, which means the success Mettenberger/Beckham/Landry had that year likely doesn't happen. The Cam/Miles offensive combo was garbage, but Mett, a 5th year Sr. pocket passer with two all world WR's and a top tier RB, fit what Cam needed to be successful. 2013's defense still would have sucked (relatively speaking) though and that year could have been worse, not better.

He's done nothing in his college career at multiple stops that were probably more "QB friendly" than LSU. Why would anyone think he would have been great here?

Probably at least going into the 2017 season. He would be 5 years removed from the title at this point with decreasing success. The seat would be hot.

LSU beats Oklahoma State 41-17 in title game.

Probably wins natty in 2012 too.

If Miles won 3 nattys he could literally shite on the eye in the middle of a game if he wanted.

LSU would have beaten Okla. State in the BCSNCG 34-23. Our running game would have kept their offense off the field except for a few big plays. We probably would have gotten a big defensive or special teams play (like we got vs Arkansas and Georgia).

Being 14-0 2011 national champs MAY have changed how we approached the 2012 season. It may have played out the same, but who knows, maybe we would have had slightly different schemes and game plans for Florida and Alabama.
Bama only moved the ball and scored in the last minute of each half in 2012. We had held them to like 1 first down and 20 yards in the second half until that last drive....

2013 was bizarre. We destroyed State, but lost to Ole Miss. We were tied with Bama 17-17 but a phantom PI call helped them.

If Bama didn't win in 2011 there's no guarantee that Yeldon would've signed with Bama. Maybe Auburn? maybe somewhere else.
Let alone Ryan Kelly, Amari Cooper, Kenyan Drake, and other freshmen who probably contributed in that game.

They solidified the beginning of their "dynasty" with that game, and we gave up our chance at ours.
That really started their stranglehold on their talent pipeline and had LSU won that game I am sure we would've been bringing in #1 classes for several years straight.
Landon Collins, Cam Robinson, Moses, Allen, Williams. These guys would probably have been Tigers in the end. If not all of them, we certainly stem the flow of LA talent.
There were 2 players on Bama's roster from LA in 2011, 6 in 2012, and at least 9 in 2017. Including At least 4 that were highly sought after by LSU.
In contrast, there were 5 players on LSU's roster from AL in 2011. We had 2 in 2016 with Kwon Alexander being the only other player we signed. None of which were contested by Bama (I believe that applies to Kwon too).

TM7 is probably still on the roster for 2012 and in place to lay out Yeldon (should he still attend Bama).

Saban is probably retired by now and seen as the great coach who could never quite get over the "thorn-in-his-side" Miles.

So what would be different? in a word.. Everything..

So much crazy shite had to happen to get us into the '03 and '07 NC's that you probably shouldn't agonize over this too much.

It did. But if LSU wins then we have 2 championships in 5 years.. instead.. Bama has 2 in five years.. It was the tipping point one way or the other.

A 2011 championship would have sent Bama and Saban on a downward spiral. Just look at how the 2 programs diverged after 2011. Saban would be gone by now and Bama would be the ones recycling SEC coaches.

The effects from that game were astronomical.

And im only exaggerating a little.

Nope, they still have Saban.

If that team in 2011 wasn't going to win it all that year, they sure as hell were the next year. Too much talent to go along with the greatest coach of all time.
