could have been the best ever if not for knee injury. I know he was good, but do you guys think he could have been heisman material if not for torn acl

Maybe not Heisman material, but he certainly would have ranked very high among LSU RB alumni. He had really good tools for the position.

Alley is a good guy. And he was a good RB. Who knows what anyone would have been.
No reason for people to trash him. But this is the Rant. A place filled with backseat coaches, geniuses and know it alls.

Broussard was a good solid back but not even close to Fournette or Guice's level of talent. He really used his size to his advantage but his speed was really lacking. Didn't he run almost a 4.8 40?

he's one of the very rare cases of modern ACL repair fricking up an athlete. it's not common anymore, but it happens
he lost a ton of athleticism and explosion
also, the Miles/Moffit plan of the mid-00s was to have our RBs get too big and lose their explosiveness. happened to alley, JV, scott, ware, etc

He was faster than 4.8 before the injury. He was breaking away from defenses.

I think once he experience adversity(ACL) he got fat, lazy, and uninspired. Too worried about rappin, and not worried about football, which he was really good at.

I remember my heart sank when I had heard Alley had the injury. He could've easily been a top 2 round draft pick. RB's were drafted higher back then.

not entirely true....he didn't bounce back because he was lazy and did not rehab it properly, I'd say its closer to Kenny britt

And, more importantly, guys who were great on their high school team and could have played college ball if they really wanted to.

Exactly. Just watch his TD run in the 2005 Capital One bowl. He went from a dead stop to burning everyone downfield. He wasn't a sub 4.5 guy, but before his injury, he had penty of speed and agility for his size.

based on his 2004 production i think he would have been pretty freaking good in 2005. i'm thinking 2008 charles scott or 2010 ridley level.

Was he the one that hungout at bogies too much and got fat and slow?
Posted on 5/1/17 at 11:02 am to S
Skyler and JV both left as completely different players than what they came in as

Did you guys actually watch Alley? He was a large speedster. We had a pass game so the box wasn't loaded. He was great.
