Once the decision was made and it didn't really matter. If he had gotten out in front on it prior to a decision being made and forced their hand this game would be getting played this weekend.

He never should have gotten strung along in the first place. Both he and the SEC got played.

He should have gone to the media and demanded Florida play the game on a day other than 11/19 or forfeit.

Monday was/is an option. The UF-UGA game could be moved up a week to 10/22 (they both have byes that week), then the LSU-UF game could be played 10/29 (our bye week).

Alleva should be on every TV and radio network across America declaring that Florida's refusal to play us should result in a forfeit.

He has not handled this well. Quite the contrary to be precise.

Doing that could result in a PR nightmare is the problem

Can he appeal to the NCAA to force calling the game a forfeit or does the SEC have final say on the matter?

Outdoor press conference live from Gainesville. Inviting people to make signs like Gameday is in town.

Sorry, with all due respect, I disagree!!!

He should have demanded a contingency be put in place sooner!

Let's face it, he got played...he should have demanded a contingency and should have been forceful with the SEC office.
Alleva is a nice guy, but in his role, he needs to be more forceful..he is not!

Not really. It's not like Gainesville is flooded, with people being rescued from homes by people in boats.

The PR nightmare is the exact scenario that played out.

Good Lord!

The horse is out of the barn. It is now almost irrelevant how he handles this.

He was vocal on local media but didn't do near enough national. Should have been all over the SEC network and ESPN since 3 pm Thursday.

I'm simply talking about before now. Of course, it's a little late now.

He's handling the aftermath fine. However, we pay him to get ahead of things.

Only game in entire state of Florida that was canceled.

And if Florida is devastated by Hurricane how does that look?

He is doing right. He doesn't need to win the National Media right now. He has hindsight now. He can go over why 11/19 doesn't work, and why he made all the other suggestions that would have gotten this game played.

negotiation power
He ceded his "negotiation power" earlier this week. His negotiation power centered around forfeit being on the table. Alleva never put it there. He got clowned! Now you think he's somehow going to wrest power back? Wow

That's not fair to Aleeva. He had a good 5 minute press conference about how dismayed (really really perturbed) he was that UForfeit and the SEC steamrolled us. And now he dilligently has his phone off the hook and is working overtime to ensure that LSU loses a home game, a sure-victory over our cupcake, and agrees to a November game in Gainesville that totally screws season ticket holders and the players who will now face a late-season murderer's row. Plus he's working super hard to not persuade A&M to change their game to Saturday. Go easy on the man, brother. Getting steamrolled is hard work.
