He was never gonna change the permanent opponent scheduling. OM & Vandy, UT and the Gumps, AU and UGA all like it the way it is. MSU and UK also like it so the votes aren't there. I hate it, but it was just not realistically possible, but he was able to spin it and get more night home SEC games.

Exactly. Some posters blindly say he has zero respect from other ADs, but even so, what does it matter if he doesn't like golfing with them or agrees with them? Everything is based on a vote, and everyone but LSU and Florida benefit from the permanent opponent. Florida benefits even more than LSU.

He's the first LSU athletic director to actually fight the issue. Does that mean Bertman, Dean, and company couldn't care less about LSU's best interest? It's pretty incredible the issue is just now being disputed. It doesn't make sense, but no other AD is going to vote in favor of something that compromises their athletic department's best interest

All things considering, Joe Alleva is likely to go down as the greatest AD in LSU history. Too bad some of our fans are too stupid to realize it.

Geeh, thanks for clarifying? No shite, but it's worth noting the improvement each year under Jones
