since you're in the SEC athletic director clubhouse, could you please elaborate more on this? maybe cite an example as to where they lack respect for him? I can't wait for the epic stories

quote:

bama wants to win at all cost

including paying $abes

Those folks would hire the devil for a win and at any dollar amount.

Their fan base would literally buy dog shite if it had a script A on it.

Well they're our competition, and they have a bigger budget than us. purge the gumps to save our ad money?

quote:

I would trust him to hire a HC for football.

Well that's good. I would too. He's shown multiple times in coaching searches that he isn't scared to go after the best.

quote:

Its an arms race and i don't see Alleva wanting to compete

all of these new facilities we're building definitely back that statement up

Instead he would rather exploit the fanbase for every last drop.

again, donating 7 million dollars to the academic side has consequences. perhaps blame jindal for another one of his frickups?

Can you believe Alleva allowed the BCS to slip Bama in for a rematch?

That comes from a good friend of mine who works in the AD's office at another SEC school. You can choose to believe me or not. Doesn't matter to me.

It is funny how quiet this board becomes when things are good. This is a great place to celebrate positive things for Lsu,but an even better place for people to come voice their dissatisfaction for Lsu.

I'm struck by your vast knowledge, experience, and insider's view. I, for one, am happy that you're not hiring - or firing - anyone in the athletics department. I suspect that your opinion is based entirely upon win/loss and your evaluation of the coaches' abilities, excuse me, but I should say Coach Miles. Some folks can't tell cut glass from diamonds.

I think every home football game being at night last year was his doing.

That has more to do with Mississippi State and Auburn housing LSU early in the year and CBS not wanting them.

While you're right, the principle of fans still bitching about too many night games after wanting more night games is insanity

Not Foley, Long, or any elite AD can tell CBS and ESPN what to schedule. that's why they pay out the arse to televise the games

You realize Alleva played college football, right? That alone makes him more qualified to hire a football coach than anyone on this board.

Pretty sure we have a top 2 athletic department in the SEC when you look at championships and national rankings amongst all sports. Alleva has done a great job.

The hatred he garners has always been a bit confusing to me. No doubt a holdover from the Duke fiasco. I understand a segment of fans being frustrated with the "parking plan" implemented last year on Nicholson, but I hardly think that's enough to make him a terrible AD. Maybe I'm missing something and someone can fill me in...

Not a very good weekend and that's on Alleva!
