re: Alleva has a 2 million dollar buyout
if you let Miles be interim AD, its practically free. Sounds like a plan

and if we make him full time AD, well I know what you're thinking, there is no way he's qualified for that job and you're right. But what if we hired two of the most expensive assistant ADs in the country to do all of the work for him and Les is more of a figurehead? Brilliant plan, right? I don't see how it could fail.

Even if we can't fire O after this year, firing Alleva will send him a clear message that he doesn't have daddy's shoulder to cry on anymore if things keep going south. It will either light a fire under his arse or just make him quit, making canning him that much easier. Win-win.

Why does the AD have a buy out? Why does anyone have a buy out for that matter? Be good at your job or get fired.

Alleva is finished already, IMO. I'm sure we'll read some sob story in ESPN or SI about him, eventually.

WHY NOT?

Oh right, you think WILL WADE is the determining factor. To which I'll say again, hiring Shaka Smart didn't help Steve Patterson stay at Texas.

You don't think Alleva is getting fired this year?

After the school has been publicly humiliated for the CEO buyout?

He has already held LSU UP WITHOUT A GUN AND Its $ 1,999,999.99 more than his bad asre is worth.

His time will come up very soon before he can hurt LSU anymore than he already has........and he will leave without any more LSU money he never earned

Miles couldn't remotely fix the passing game in spite of having this generation's most talented rb, yet some of you enjoy entertaining the idea of Miles fixing an enormous athletic department.

Possibly the buyout Orgeron has. If the BOS fires Alleva now, but they decide they don't want to pay O to go away; they may have a tough time getting one of those top tier ADs on the short list to come here. Who is going to want to take the LSU AD job to watch the biggest money maker for the AD go into the tank for a year or two before he can do anything about it?

F. King, Alleva, and O all need to go, but this is a completely fricked up situation right now. The BOS bares the blame for it all, and this mess won't get straightened out until they're either replaced, or they get their shite together.

re: Alleva has a 2 million dollar buyout
The actual Alleva figure, once you factor in the income from future employment, is probably much closer to $900,000, payable monthly over 5 1/2 years. That works out to about $13,500 per month, which is about what LSU would pay a well-regarded shadow staff member.

re: Alleva has a 2 million dollar buyout
Why couldn't they reassign Alleva to some other role in the Athletic Dept, where he doesn't make major decisions? With a pay cut, if possible. Then keep him until his contract runs out, and then let him go.

Would this not work?
