He must have the highest standards of integrity and work ethic LSU fans have come to expect.

He must be a skilled and relentless recruiter, attracting the most gifted student-athletes to our university while instilling pride and confidence in parents who entrust their children to our program.

He must be able to motivate our players to perform at the highest level, and to hold them accountable to certain standards of behavior both on and off the field. He must be committed to continuing a tradition defined by character and integrity.

He must have the instinct to adapt to changes in the game of college football, allowing LSU to compete for championships every year.

Finally, he must be an accomplished leader of the young men who will rely on him for strength and guidance and from whom they will learn valuable lessons that will have a lasting impact on their lives.

Maybe but it falls off a cliff when he states he's looking for an ACCOMPLISHED LEADER. That's a pretty big box to leave unchecked in this type of hire don't ya think?

Yea, no big accomplishment to take two programs and win almost every game as an interim coach, while retaining all commitments in the recruiting game and raising the level of play from nearly every single level on the field.

What part of this statement made you come to this conclusion?

Not after the remainder of this season. He's done a kick arse job at leading this team.

This absolutely eliminates Ed Orgeron, lest we forget the bama game.

Do what? It could have come straight from one of the pro-O threads on the CC board. It's like his biggest fan wrote a letter in support of him.

If Coach O beats Florida and A&M, it's almost certain he'll get the job. Regardless of all this bullshite doubletalk from the AD, that's pretty much a done deal.

Fact is that he accomplished nothing but failure in his only stint as a permanent coach. Do I think it's impossible for him to learn and change and that there's no way he could be successful as a permanent head coach at a major program? No, that's ridiculous. But I'd prefer if LSU wasn't the guinea pig.
