We've had great WRs here. Jarvis and Beckham were great. Kennison was great. Bowe and Early were. Clayton was.

They don't approach Josh Reed's career here, or Wendell's. The fact that they didn't have All Pro careers in the NFL makes no difference.

You could line up triple coverage on Wendell Davis, and he'd still be open coming out of his break.

Great list. The three best returners I have seen were Eddie Kennison, Todd Kinchen and Tyrann Mathieu

Add Trindon Holliday to the return list. Was a great playmaker.

Doesn't matter what you meant little bitch. Matters what you typed.

G was baaaddd man! Intense dude.

On topic, I'd have to give the nod to Nacho over Mawae as well. Pro careers shouldn't play a part.
Nacho was the most decorated olineman at LSU up until Faneca and they were even on accolades.

Also, from a sheer intimidation standpoint, Ralph Norwood was an animal. Sad he gets lost in these discussions.

Agree Jarvis was the better receiver at LSU.

OBJ and Landry had the unfortunate break in playing in a Les Miles post Jarret Lee freshman year offense. Go watch Landrys highlights and no receiver in LSU history comes close to his amazing catches. In one year with a good QB he had a great season as the number 2 receiver, BUT was "the go to guy" on third down. He never dropped a pass. Dude pinned one on his leg on a slant one time to grab the first down late in a game when ball was behind him. He was nuts. OBJ started as a true freshman but just played in a sucky offense. I understand u went off career production here but doing that to OBJ and Landry under a Miles run offense is borderline garbage. And Chris Jackson was a joke as all time great. Go look at the stats. Completely laughable. And u also said "all time greats that u saw play" and then you go to "resume that doesn't stack up". So, essentially you are asking for the best resumes? Not the best player?

Ok man, you don't like my list! Where is yours? Id like to see what your team looks like. That's was the whole point of the thread, not that my team was absolute all to end all!

This is really hard to do spanning the many years of watching LSU Football. So I'll list some off the top of my head:
This is based on leadership, will to win and the "It" factor.
Bert Jones
Mike Miley
Tommy Hodson

Carl Otis Trimble may have been the single most electric offensive player I've ever seen in an LSU jersey. Plus he broke the color line as far as QBs at LSU. Before you kids spout off Peterson or Matthieu or any of those, imagine Matthieu's change of direction on steroids.

Best Athlete I've ever seen put on an LSU uniform?
Tommy Casanova at DB, RB whatever position. Beast.

I started watching and following LSU football in 82 so my list is pretty much same as yours. Couple of names to throw in for debate.

Eric Martin WR

and no way Michael Brockers doesn make the top on DL

Kevin Minter LB

Pretty good list

with all due respect, the years tend to exaggerate our memories and gets us to glorify our youth to a place better than it really was

Josh Reed First Team All-American

Reed won the Biletnikoff award as the nation's top receiver in 2001. That season was easily the best season any LSU receiver had. The fact that he was a converted running back makes it more amazing.

People forget how awesome Hodson was. Favorite LSU player ever.
Hodson was a terrific quarterback, but he was not nearly as good as JR.

Yeah maybe so. What I saw with my own eyes and etched in my memory is that guys career getting ruined by Cholly Mac when he tried him at QB to run that veer. Miley did all that from what I remember then he hauled arse to the MLB.
They moved him to WR and he was really the first #3.

it also had a lot to do with the times and the OC. Carlos Carlson and Carl Otis Trimble are the same players with that offense. CC might have been better. Certainly faster.
