This is college football...kids trying to make something of theirselves in either a professional sport or earn a degree. Its gone to far with all this complaining about fairness. I like the system the way it is. You can't compare this to the NFL, 30 teams compared to a 3 maybe 4 times that many.

Let these kids go out there and play in their bowl games and be proud to finish out their seasons on a good note. Think about them and how they want to finish up their college careers, not what you wanna see as you sit back and watch it on TV. I can see putting a playoff in college football will just add to more and more issues and once you make a change like that, you just can't undo it. Those bowl sponsors won't just jump back on board like nothing happened.

So no one cares that Div. 1-AA players are trying to get a degree?

Right now they are the only kids that play sports where they can end on a good note. It's life, get over it. Some people win some people lose, and only one can be the best.

Or Div II, Div III, high school?

Div IA (FBS) is the only division at ANY level that doesn't have a playoff system. I guess every other level is wrong.

There's more money in bowls than playoffs. Nuff said.

you can have both. The top teams go to the playoff and the teams that don't make the playoffs go to a bowl game.

Who cares to watch two mediocre 6-6 teams play? Create a playoff with top 16 teams making it.

Do all division 1-AA teams have the same number of bye weeks so no one has an advantage

Again all you want is satisfaction for yourselves. How many D2 games do you watch including playoffs? If you watch any its because you got some kinda tie to the school like home town or alumni. The play off will not be competitive in any way.

there will never be a playoff system...the writers are just looking to stir the pot, they do it after every year

No, there isn't. An international marketing firm did a study and found that a playoff would make much more money than the bowls. And as SFP never tires of saying, many teams lose money going to bowls.

Yep, 1 study.
Think about this.....would Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, Auburn fan care about a playoff when their team isn't in it? Would the players care? Yes, 'people' would watch but only because they wouldn't have a bowl to watch instead. Getting rid of bowls is a bad idea, as it rewards players for playing, not 'watchers' for watching. Remember, it's a marketing firm that did the study.

You can have a 10 team playoff and bowls. Hell even the losers in the playoffs can go to a bowl to fill out the extra big bowls. The 2 final teams in the playoff are the championship game.

We already have a playoff, it's called the regular season. If cincy, tcu, and Boise don't like it they should schedule some middle of the pack teams from bcs conferences and increase their SOS.

you could argue tcu's schedule was harder then Texas's this year. Texas only big wins were against okie state and Nebraska while Tcu beat Byu, Utah, and Clemson.

Yeah, i'd lose the last game of the season deliberately to 'save players for the playoffs' like the pros do....wouldn't that be a fun game to watch.

The prices for tickets right now for the sugar bowl are dropping like crazy, which means little interest. I bet if it was a playoff game for a shot at a championship there would be a little more interest.

That makes absolutely no sense at all. If the regular season is a playoff then teams should just stop playing when they lose. The regular season will never EVER be a playoff until there is some equity in team schedules. They don't nor every will play equal schedules, so you have no way to determine if a team that dominated the Big XII could even beat the third best team in the PAC-10 or SEC or Mountain West. You will never know that until the teams play each other on the field instead of writers voting on which team they think would win or who deserves the right to play for a championship!

This doesn't matter to the bowls themselves -- the bowls already sold their tickets; it's the second market that suffers.
