As a former player, late in the game, I started thinking about all of the pre-snap motion and shifts.

That has to get old if you're playing for LSU. Almost every single play, tackles and tight ends flipping ends and getting the same damn result.

Guys will get really tired of "going through the motions" with the results of this offense.

My other thoughts on the game--

1. Say what you want to--first TD called back was huge. It set the tone and would have shut down the crowd. It also lets our offense come back out next time and establish the run. I don't care how many of you say I'm crazy, this play was huge.

2. Line of scrimmage--on defense we never had it. On offense, after our first touchdown, we never got it again. Defensively, if you can't control the line of scrimmage, safeties have to come up and I felt like we should have blitzed way more from the secondary.

3. Penalties--beating a dead horse, but every penalty not only cost us in yardage, they also amped the crowd and other team exponentially. Penalties are killer.

4. Better remember the players we lost from last year. You don't replace them with freshmen.

5. I'll wait until after Florida to give my final answer for these Tigers, but I'm thinking 7-5 worst case, 9-3 best unless we find out Mississippi State is as good as we made them look last night.

I'll hand up and listen.

It's a lot of bells and whistles to disguise the fact that this offense isn't a whole lot different than what we've seen over the past 8-9 years or so.

Alleva has to go before anyone can start to have hope again for the football program.

It hasn't seemed to confuse anybody yet, except the LSU offense. It still boils down to a hand full of basic plays that decent teams can easily defend. We still can't execute pass plays enough to be a definite threat. The quarterback is still running for his life behind and the inept OL. We're all sick of waiting for the magical secret playbook. We still can't seem to make adjustments. So really, nothing has changed.

Why no intermediate passing? Only very short and very long. Most were incomplete.

Our receivers are terrible.

You're delusional if you think this team is winning nine games.

We may not win a conference game all year.

Whats funny is people were bashed for saying they wished we worked more on passing in the first two weeks. All we then heard "secret playbook" "tryin not to show anything"

Reality is its a lot of the same plays, utilizes motions to keep people off guard. This won't work when we play Florida, Auburn and Bama

Except that we fired a good head coach and replaced him with Corky.

Why no seam route to the tight end to keep the line backers and safeties honest? Why no screen passes?

I haven't and probably won't watch the game a second time, but from what I remember, first down wasn't what killed us last night. It was the poor results on second and third down that killed the offense.

I remember getting four, five, and six yards on first down only to do nothing on second and third.

Pretty much spot on. Comes down to the Payers executing, last night they didn't. I think that noise really bothered them and thinking to much? The thing that surprised me is the first two plays byState, run right big gain, run left big gain? Just running off tackle?

It's only one game and we can make the adjustments, we'll see.
