There is no Josh Booty on this team to tell the head coach that a move to WR would be beneficial to everyone involved

and I don't know if he should be moved

most believe he will move because of hill. Reed was a RB before moving to WR. Reed was quick in the open field, but Blue has about the same speed and more size.
The major difference is all D's have learned how to defend the bubble screen.

No... there's not a need. He's a quality runningback who's solidly in the rotation. Receivers are deep; unproven, but deep.

Shepard, Landry and Beckham are proven, Williams and Wright are big talented guys, and Boone/Fobbs are two years into the program already. You've got Johnson, Dural, and Holmes coming in this year and about five quality in-state guys in the 2013 class.

No need.

He does have the size and hands to play and may want more pt. What about Shepard's spot at slot and Shep moving over to RRs spot? Or does Beck take RRs spot and Boone moves to Sheps spot. Its just shep is short and frankly really hasn't showed any real WR skills. He is a solid player, but just a tweener IMO.
Maybe he should have stayed at QB.

If the coaches would have liked Blue somewhere other than RB, they would have moved him to LB when it was clear there would be a need at the position after Hatcher, Francois, and Baker.

Why would he move? He's damn good at RB. Although he probably should have redshirted.

No, I don't think "most" believe this at all.

Reed was a RB before moving to WR.

1) Blue is a better RB than Reed was

2) Blue will be a JR, Reed moved at least before his SO season, maybe after his redshirt FR season

3) We have more depth at WR now than we did then

4) Miles seems to really like Blue at RB. Remember he played before both Ware and Ford.

I just don't see this happening at all. We have plenty of receivers, all of whom have been playing the position longer than Blue, and most of whom have been in the system there for a couple of years already. But I'd be for it if the coaches deem it a good fit. But I doubt it.

blue isn't even that good at catching the ball out of the backfield. keep him at rb, he was running well at the end of the season.

I've seen this suggested a lot on here, was Blue a bad arse LB in HS? or is this kinda how the Rant tried to convert Addai after 03?

No, this was suggested when he was coming out of high school with Ford in the fold, Ridley still there, and Ware coming in. He's got a big, 6'3" frame, and it was clear LSU would have a crunch at the LB position (at least in terms of top-flight athletes).

Okay? Or Reed. Or Devery. No one's saying backs can't be converted to receiver. We're just saying it's unlikely in Blue's case.

Here are the facts:
1. either we were so poor at Qb that our receivers were "hurt" far more than any other group in the country.
OR
2. they didn't know how to "get off the ball" against physical backs like those from Bama.
Or.
3. They are poor route runners.

With the exception of a young Beck last year, I saw no sign of that group, saying they were the best we had including Boone, being very good. Maybe we need to do something.
Blue is a PHYSICAL back that has good hands with focus could be a huge benefit for this team.
Our recievers are poor. Bringing in a few freshmen, may help, but they will need time to develop.
With Mett,
I want people who have knowledge and skills to make a difference.
Blue could be the next Adrian Peterson with his size and physical make-up or he could be a back that never was fully used at LSU and blows up in the pro's. Either way, his draft stock would be hurt staying in with that grup and the addition of Hill does not help.

Maybe instead of talking about who does LSU switch to WR, the real question is can the new WR coach make a big difference in all of their games? I'm hoping so. Ala Frank Wilson's coaching of the RB's really helped them IMO.

Here are the facts:

1.) Blue is going into his junior year, and he's getting a good number of carries. Why would you simply assume that out of Ware, Ford, Hilliard, Blue, and Magee, it would be Blue who gets diminished carries due to Hill coming in? My guess would be that it affects Magee most.
2.) There are seven WRs on the team with at least some experience (Shepard, Landry, Beckham, Wright, Williams, Boone, and Fobbs). Landry and Beckham are poised for breakout years.
3.) There are three incoming WRs (Johnson, Dural, and Holmes) plus Paul Turner may very well play WR and there are some rumors that Gibson is still working a bit on the offensive side of the ball.
4.) Blue has never played WR, and again, he has only two years of eligibility remaining.
5.) As for Blue's playing time affecting his draft stock, that's simply not so. NFL teams do not particularly want guys who were overworked in college (clearly some "high-carry backs are an exception). The NFL game is becoming runningback-by-committee more than ever. If Blue tests well (sub 4.6) and is in the area of 6'2.5" 220, he will be fine.

With the legit qbs in the league rbs are not at a premium when you can get a couple of guys cheaper and be just as fine. Yes u will have ur elite backs every year, but then you have all the rest that just need to impress at combine and interviews. Baring injuries, I don't see any of our backs not getting a shot with a team.

Reed was awesome for us, but I have 2 buddies that are bills fans that hated reed. Ur draft stock doesn't make u a good nfl player, and with 2 years left I think it would be unwise to switch positions, especially when we aren't hurting for depth at any he would switch to.
