Is there any we avoid the 2:30 CBS game of the week? Such a terrible SEC slate that week. I'm worried that TAMU laying an egg past few weeks has sealed our fate.

They also have an 8:00 game that week and especially if we win they know when LSU and Alabama play it's usually a good game for ratings.

Man.... I'm confused. I thought this was ESPN preseason night game pick.

Odds are it will be the night game for CBS. They messed up already a few years back missing this game. I don't think they will again

I would think CBS would be holding out the night game for Ole Miss vs State OR Bama vs Auburn?

I apparently don't know how this works?

Thanks for any info.

Truth- sorry I made you take time out of your incredibly busy day to post on this thread- whose topic is clearly worded.

From newspaper article... I was unaware there was predetermined time slots

Nov. 8 (2:30 p.m. & 7:30 p.m.)

Possibilities: Alabama at LSU,Florida at Vanderbilt, Georgia at Kentucky, Texas A&M at Auburn

Who CBS will pick and why: As Mike Herndon noted earlier today, the SEC settled on a doubleheader on this date primarily so Alabama at LSU could be a night game. So that's a no-brainer. Texas A&M at Auburn makes for a good appetizer.

The primary pick for this date is the 8pm slot. SO I believe after that pick ESPN gets 1 or 2 picks THEN, CBS gets to choose who they want at 330. At least I'm pretty sure that's how it works. Not necessarily the top 2 picks.

Possibly now that A&M has lost 3 straight. I think it's back to leaning Bama/LSU as the 7 PM CBS game.

Between Bama/LSU & A&M/Auburn, one will likely be the 2:30 PM CBS game & the other will be the 7:00 PM CBS game.

Georgia/Kentucky & Florida/Vandy are the only other 2 SEC matchups that day. Unless Kentucky beats Miss. State, I see no chance CBS picks one of these east matchups over either west matchup that day.

That date is set in start prior to the season. Looking at the options it's hard to imagine in not being the Tigers and Tide.

They're not going to vacate a three-hour slot with only 6 days' notice to their stations.

Actually Peej, no they don't have the right to change this. They set the game times months before the season starts, whether it be doubleheaders or the Friday before thanksgiving and start selling advertising for them. They also have their network Saturday night programming that they have to bump for a week and switching it is not easy at all, if at all possible.

The weekend has already been picked as their one primetime game weekend before the season. Where are you getting the bad info?
