Nah, the discussion, as I remember it, regarding Tyler Moore started as your usual weekly bitch fest that Mainieri didn't know what he was doing by not starting Tyler regularly because "he was going to be a top 10 round draft prospect."

I said I would be surprised if Moore was drafted earlier than the 30th (I believe) round. And I was basing that on comparing Tyler's hitting, arm, speed and playing position abilities to previous LSU players who were drafted. It was nothing personal towards Tyler or you. And it sure had nothing to do with what Mainieri thought about Tyler. Other than Tyler not being a regular starter I didn't know what Mainieri thought about him or his draft pospects.

But, that's when you got pissed like I had insulted your family.

Nope. I never said anything close to this. Your limited skills are fading with age.

Let us know how that next visit with Romero's dad goes.

Nah, I'll just keep it to myself. I don't want you to get in another tizzy over it.

Oh no! They're just "realists", definitely not "constant whiners".

If it's March, it must be time. Team is garbage, series sweep coming. CPM sux, bring back Smoke, blah blah blah. So boring and predictable. Stop investing so much emotional energy in athletics.

Said the same thing last night. Cpm is a winner hands down. Maybe we need a new hitting coach, i mean what else can y'all complain about? Pitching is average to above average for sec play, to say the least, so I'm not sure what y'all want done ? More live BP? If anybody knows I would love to hear com record at LSU ? And if you think this lsu team won't make the regionals, youre a fricking ritard.

1-29 with runners on base is a meltable offense.

And that is the crux of the issue. I think they are missing their hitting coach more than anyone would let on. Their approach at the plate, especially against top P, is horrible. Swinging at first P breaking balls, watching good pitches, expanding the zone, etc. We saw this vs TCU, and now you see it again vs quality P. They really need to look at the film and adjust their AB approach. Talent is there IMO, make adjustments and press ahead.

Don't think I've ever heard this except from that Knucklehead guy who used to call the local sports shows and go on bigoted rants.

It seems both of our memories are fuzzy. Mine from age and yours from beer....

I found the thread which started the "where will Tyler Moore be drafted" debate.

LINK

It was a thread about Cody Glenn leaving the team near the end of the 2014 season. The thread quickly devolved into "Mainieri is not liked by the players and he has favorites."

My first statement about Moore in the thread was "If Moore is drafted earlier than the 30th round I'd be surprised."

You said you disagreed and I asked you what round you thought he'd be drafted in. You replied, "I really don't know and I am not guessing a round #. Just saying higher than most people think. You think 30+. I think it will be higher than that."

Another poster said Moore was gone no matter where he was drafted and I asked him why he thought that.

You replied to my question to him saying, "Coach. The state of the team."

So I asked you what was the state of the team. You replied, "Do I really need to tell you this?"

I said, "Yes, please."

And you replied, "Not gonna do it in detail on here. Let's just say that the team lacks "chemistry" for some reason. I doubt this was a topic at your Coach's Committee meetings."

So, as usual, you went into your bitter-man routine.

There was another thread started by Adam about 10 days after the first thread linked above where he gave his opinion of the draft status of LSU players that year. Here In that thread you said you thought Moore would be drafted before the 20th round. So I'm not sure where I got it that you said he would go in the top 10 rounds. Maybe there's another thread but I'm ready to watch to the LSU/Florida game now.

Wow, that is a long post, but this part sums it up:

In fact you quoted me as having said that Coach was wrong to not play Moore regularly because "he was going to be a top 10 round draft prospect." I never said this. I had forgotten how you twist stuff around on here in order to be right in your own way. Lets just ignore each other again like we did in 2013.

I would like to hear about your next "face to face" interaction with Mr. Romero though.

If Mainieri can't coach this team to a deep run in Omaha then the money is being wasted and Mainieri is not giving Alleva his money's worth
EXACTLY.

1. only 1 team in america returned more talent than lsu - tcu.
2. no team pours as much money into baseball as lsu
3. mainieri has 1 omaha win since the '09 championship while several other programs/coaches are doing MUCH better
4. lsu has only beaten one good team this season - baylor

but mainieri wins the sec tournament!!! things are great!! fans have unrealistic expectations

if i were ad, he better win at least 2 games in omaha this year and even that would be disappointing given the above.

Again, reading comprehension is at a premium on this board.

My point was this:

It's the second weekend. In the first weekend, half the league got swept. Florida is not as bad as some thought. LSU likely is not as good as some thought. We won't know for sure until a few more series are done.

None of this implies LSU is championship caliber now or that these games don't matter. But it is a question of patience and perspective.

Regardless, there literally is nothing any fan can do except let it play out. I care, and have cared since 1989 when I enrolled, but not enough to call players "garbage" and meltdown when they have a bad series.
