after watching the game on tv, Beckwith had a great game.

especially in covering receivers. multiple times he was step for step, and also had at least one pass break up that i recall. he's going to be a great one for us.

His physical ability to perform the task at hand was never in question. The question was always if he could read the offence and put the defense in there right position. But hopefully he is getting a better football IQ so he will be on the field more often.

The light needs to come on for him sooner rather than later. I hope by the time we go to Auburn he is starting.

He was all over the place. Gets in the backfield whenever he wants. I hope we see him in there more often than not.

He would be the complete package if he only had the brain of Welter

This will turn into a "shite on DJ Welter" thread in 3...2....1.......

i focused on him when i watched the replay and he did have his bad moments but way more positives than negatives, especially on coverage with crossing routes.

No reason to shite on DJ Welter. He is a great Tiger. He is not, however, a great linebacker.

He may get the defense line up properly, but Welter just does not make plays. This defense will get exponentially better once Beckwith becomes the man in the middle.

Careful welter may read this and send out those photos of miles to the press .

So, you're saying we need a K.J. Weckwith?

I think if Beckwith continues to show improvement these next few weeks, he will be starting against Auburn.

I hope so. He is light years quicker and tougher than 31. Hopefully he gets the calls down by aub.

He (welter) would have made a lot of tackles this season if the guy that made the tackle would have waited 3 more steps before tackling the RB...he just a two-step behind the rest...reminds me of cutrera...

nah, Welter's gonna start all yr barring injury. he isn't Hatcher bad and Beckwith isn't Minter in 2011 good.
Beckwith will continue to get a series here and there though.
