Assuming we don't beat everyone 50-0, run the table, and win the NC, as you sit here pondering our chances in 2014 season in late June, what position do you THINK you'll be saying "if we only had talented / better ______" come late November 2014.

Figure our entire running game will solid.

Defense will likely reload after losses in key areas, plus, it's Chief.

Can't see us throwing the ball like we did last year anytime soon.

Ima say QB........

Maybe receivers......

When you can't throw, it gets hard to tell, but Ima say QB, and lay the blame on lack of experience, not lack of talent.

O-Line/ possibly LineBackers since a good bit are draft eligible.

If only we had a deeper d-line.

LSU can win a lot of games with very average QB's. It all comes down to the defense.

In that regard, DT could be a big problem. I hope a few guys step up.

I'm kinda with you Sport.

If the O line is 1/2 as good as advertised, and if LF is what we think he is (assuming Hilliard is the BEST he's been, and Magee doesn't regress), I honestly think about 1/2 of this board could take this offense to 24 points a game. That's how good I think the running game will be.

I think the secondary has enough raw talent to be decent.

I got no clue if this D line has the depth, talent, chest to be an sec "really good" d line.

It's been so long since we've had a dominant linebacking corps that I don't even remember what that feels/looks like, so I can't really opine on that.

Both better than AJ and just as good as Ego. Gilmore, Bain and Heron should give us better backups than the aforementioned did last year. So better starters and better backups this year than last. Will someone be great? I think Lacouture is our only hope for greatness this year.

Whoa! This is the understatement of the year. This is a badass secondary.

The three position groups we don't need to worry about are Oline/TE, LB, and DBs. We will be dominant at those.

Without a doubt it would have to be D line.

It looks like Sheppard Riley and baker, then Sheppard baker and minter. Our linebackers have been dominant in spots.

This year I will say dline. Dt is a position of worry. We have the talent, but whether guys like Gilmore ever have the light come on is something we will have to wait and see.

I'm going with Thomas here. That said, I expect big things from LaCouture before his time is done here.

FIFY. Our linebackers are athletic, but they haven't shown the ability to be consistently great yet.

DT and WR are the biggest unknowns. We have Dural at WR and then a bunch of unknowns. DT I think we have a lot of talent, let's just see what kind of condition they're in. Injuries at either of those positions could really hurt this team.

for real.

But I think it has something to do with the rise of the spread offenses. With so many teams running these wide open offenses, a strong, run stopping linebacking corp is not as essential as it once was. Chavis probably saw the writing on the wall years ago.
