In my mind, I'm already there.

Taking the P&G glasses off and being objective, do we look like a team that can go undefeated this season? This is not a "sky is falling" thread. I'm trying to be realistic. I feel I under evaluated our inexperience defensively. I hope I'm wrong, but I see us losing 2 maybe 3 games this year. BAMA, Arkansas, and one other "not suppose to lose" road games like Auburn or Florida. Just trying to keep it real.

One game at a time...we should see the most improvement next week.

way too early to tell, of course. but i have concerns and think we probably will drop one or maybe even two. this may be nothing but my biggest concern was mett. i didn't see any indication of leadership from him on the field. maybe he's not a demonstrative leader but i damn sure hope he is a leader.

You see how Oklahoma looked last night? They were winning 10-7 in the 4th quarter. Florida struggled. USCe struggled. Stanford struggled. Arkansas struggled. Texas struggled. Each of these teams looked pretty bad against cream puffs.

There is no preseason in NCAA, so coaches test and install new packages against these teams. Calm down.

It is simply too early in the season to tell. After next weekend we will know more. There are too many variables that go into an undefeated season. Do we avoid injuries at key positions? Do our opponents do the same? If McCarron goes down for Bama how does that affect them? I would say the same for Tyler Wilson at Arkansas. If he goes out, that severely hurts Arkansas' chances for a solid run this year.

Yes, all we needed to do was improve our passing a little and we go 14-0 last year. That more than happened.

Absolutely not.

THAT was our newfangled passing game? I was never one to think JJ and JL could have been all that bad all by themselves. That was confirmed. I don't think Studrawa has what it takes.

Jesus Christ. Proof that the Rant isn't just for over-reactive, immature 23 year olds. Seems like we've got our share of over-reactive, immature senior citizens, too. It was the season fricking opener against North Texas. Now suddenly we're going to lose multiple games and we have no leadership. Go eat your pudding and wait for Arts and Crafts time, gramps.

I see you're just as shitty a poster on the Rant as you are on PT, which is kinda fascinating because I didn't think that was even possible.

don't judge an entire season based on one game.

we went through a hurricane this week, Mett played his first game, three CBs played their first game. We will be fine.

at worst we lose 2 games but I think we have a good shot of winning it all.

I love LSU fans like you. Trying to have it both ways.

But you are probably right, 1 game against a scrub team is all you need to know. After the Tenn game in 2010, we were never going to beat Alabama again.

I hope people realize LSU would have whipped Michigan in the exact same fashion had they opened with them in Dallas stadium.. and everybody would all be praising them.

I am really disgusted by all the negativity. LSU took care of business and looked very impressive.

Final score: 41-14, good guys.

Mettenberger - 19/26 for 192 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
Hilliard+Blue+Ford+Copeland - 41 carries for 347 yards, 3 TDs
2 punt return TDs (one called back)

I'd say that's a damn good start for game 1!
