Rundown on a couple things we seem improved at and a couple things we need to do better?

I really appreciate it.

The bats looked ok, but have a lot of room for improvement. Nothing to worry about at this point with it being chilly still. Looks to be a very solid 1-9 without many if any holes in the lineup. Starting pitching was on point Friday and Saturday. Sunday's stater was throwing hard and didn't look bad but the defense didn't really do him any favors. Relief pitching looked pretty bad Saturday but I thought the pitched well today.

Awesome thank you for your post

Did you think our defense today was just lack of concentration being we locked up the series yesterday?

I think one of the defense's problems was moving Hale to 2nd base. He definitely was not comfortable there, and should stay at 1st. I believe he made 3 of the 4 errors.

Jordan made the start at 3B today instead of Zardon, and had a throwing error. Hale played 2B for the first time this season and made a couple of errors.

Hopefully, Kramer Robertson can hit well enough to play 2B most of the time.

The OF defense is incredible. They will catch just about everything.

Yeah, that was a big part of it, but Hale only had 2 of the errors. Bryce Jordan had a throwing error at third, but it was his first career game. Bregman had the other, but made several great plays to make up for it. The outfield had quite a few diving/sliding catches as well. Not a bad first start for Godfrey overall, considering 3 of KU's runs today were unearned.

This is a VERY good team. We appear to have a so,id closer. Strall looks good in short relief. We have two excellent starters. Lange will eat up innings. We have a bunch of pitchers who can give us two or three innings - Cartwright, Bouman, Bain, and Reynolds. We'll see Norman this week.

This team was going to rise or fall on freshman pitching, and it looks like "rise" is the order of the day. And to think that Latz and Mac could have been pitching this weekend too.

Defense looks great, and hitting will at least be good. Weaknesses aren't glaring, but here's my list:

Catcher - We're okay there, but unless Pap develops, we won't be as strong as you'd like

Lead off - Again, we're not bad, just not as strong as you'd like.

Outfield arms - Same as last year

Clean up - We don't have the power there that I'd like to see.

Sunday starter - Might be fine, but didn't show the control this weekend. Yeah, defense made errors behind him, but he was down in a lot of counts.

Sunday starter will be sorted out. Russell Reynolds may get a look, latz will be back, Norman or godfrey. I am anxious to see how godfrey looks next weekend. He looked pretty good today, just needs to keep his composure when errors happen.

If K Rob is hitting the ball then we know our new hitting coach is ok.

The outfield arms are pretty accurate, just not strong. Fraley seems to be the exception with one of the better arms of all of the outfielders. The defensive depth that LSU has with Fraley, Laird, Stevenson, Sciambra, Foster, and Beau Jordan is absolutely absurd.

I was able to attend the Saturday afternoon game - all of the above replies pretty well covers it - I thought the players looked like they have hit the weight room.

We will easily win 50 games this year.

We will win the SEC reg season

We will win the SEC Tourney

We will be a Nat Seed

Poche will pitch a fricking gem in Game 1 in SR.

Lange will pitch a fricking gem for 7 innings of game 2 and somehow with only 6 outs needed to go to Omaha with a 4 run lead CPM will frick something up

Laird and Stevenson fight off lots of pitches and make something happen.
Bregman sprayed the ball all over. Those will fall in eventually.
I expect the 3rd and 4th hole to be like musical chairs til someone gets really hot
Chinea looked good at times.
hopefully Fraley will return to last years hitting.
K Rob has to hit better than last year. He's already made awesome plays in the first inning of opening night.
I guess 3rd base will be he biggest question for a while.

We beat Kansas on Sunday with our JV team. Had an entirely new infield other than Bregman. Had a new catcher and DH as well. But on the plus side, we only made 4 errors with all of of those defensive switches.
