No, les is a smart guy no doubt. Idk what that has to do with his skills or lack thereof as a FOOTBALL COACH though. He sure did show his ineptness many of times as a football coach. His situational play calling, clock management and awarenews got exposed against teams that were close to LSUs in talent. I can name several games that can be attributed to les miles' getting simply out coached or him making a collosal blunder at a crucial time in the game. Much less his overall gameplans were atrocious at times. He is a smart guy but it didn't transfer over to the football field. He was simply hard headed and stubborn as a coach and let his pride get the best of him. Everyone knew what the problem was most of the time and les miles continental to try and shove a square peg thru a round hole. Smart coaches don't do that for years on end while taking losses because of it without switching up their gameplan, or at least attempting to do so. I liked les as a man and a coach but these last few years were hard to watch as a tiger fan, knowing what caliber of talent those tiger teams had and the lack of creativeness on the offensive side of the ball. He did it to himself.

Exactly. I couldn't have said it better myself. If a high iq is all it takes to be an effective football coach, then einstein and stephen hawking would be great coaches. His FOOTBALL IQ is where les lacked mentally and it cost him his job. There are only a few teams in the nation with the advantages that the LSU football program has, however, there are numerous coaches that I believe would have at the very least been just as successful as les was as head coach. That's a fact jack.

LSU won more games over-all from 2005-2015 than any SEC program. You want to tell me another time a LSU football coach was able to do that? shite, some of you are so clueless I don't know how you find your way home from work at night if you are able to hold down a job.

Yeah, you're right, les miles was awesome and no other coach could have accomplished what he did at lsu in his tenure. bullshite man, les had so much talent on those teams that it hid his deficiencies as a head coach alot of times. Look, I respect les and he's a good man and was a decent coach at lsu. All you have to do is look at all of the schools just beating down les mies' door to be their head coach since he was canned last year...like ZERO. he was an underachieving head coach at LSU with the amount of talent he had on his rosters every year. If you dont like it then I'm sorry but it's true. Nobody wants him to coach their team bc they know exactly what I'm saying is the truth. LSU put more players in the nfl over that span than basically aNY other team if I'm recalling correctly, yet les miles continued to have the same problems plague him every year. He's just not that great of a coach dude. Get over it, we've got the best staff right now coaching than we've had since saban was here. Time to move on from les...it was way overdue imho. Geaux tigers.

On that, we agree. The rest of your post is mostly BS.
He has no skills of a football coach, your words, but even in his last five years he won more games than Saban won at LSU in his five years.
It was time for Les to go, but this he couldn't coach BS only makes you guys look foolish.

He has the best win% of any LSU FB coach since the 1920s, so why all the vitriol?

No, I'm saying his lack of ability to change shite when it's obvious what he's doing isn't working anymore shows his stupidity is all. Look, we can argue about les all day but it's really not worth it. I'm very satisfied with the staff changes and the overall attitude/energy that coach O has made. It's time to move on from les. There are mixed opinions on les and it's damn near 50/50 if I had to guess. He was running this program down and he hd to go...so much so that we are paying his arse NOT TO COACH LSU FOOTBALL ANYMORE. Damn, need I say anymore?!

So? That doesnt change the fact that he was bat shite crazy.
Your still pissed he was unceremoniously shown the door....an ending you feel was unfit for a coach of his stature. Admit it...it chaps your arse.

Do you even read this dumb shite before you post it. Of course he does....hes a real college coach....the people on the rant arent. Im embarrassed for you that I had to point that out.

Oh he's drove as frick over it no doubt, lol. Fact is that LSU is paying les miles to not coach the football team anymore and since we fired him, not 1 fricking program has said "we want les miles, he's our guy". Now why do you think that is? I believe it's pretty self explanatory myself. Meanwhile, mark richt gets fired from georgia and basically immediately finds another good job coaching at miami. Lol.

I just can't wait to hear some of these dumbasses continue to defend les when he does miraculously land a hc job somewhere and falls flat on his face with the same issues he had at lsu...

So let me get your logic strsight right here...you're comparing a coach that gets paid over 5 million a year to posters on the rant and you don't see any flaws with that? That's not the point at all. It really doesn't take a genius to coach football at a program like lsu anyway...as hard as les miles made it look.

Never said that either...but anyway...to each his own. Not getting drug into a 20-page thread on Miles again. Rick will start in again if this goes any further.

Wade worked with my son prior to his tryout a couple of years ago, and I've never met a nicer, classier guy. And he knows his stuff. He worked with us multiple times over several months and wouldn't let me compensate him in any fashion. I'd love to see us figure out how to get him involved.

because we were stocked with NFL talent, yet Les went 10-10 against the SEC West his last 3+ years.
Squandered opportunities. That's why.
