Hey Tiger nation just wanted a little advise as we (4) males ages 34-42 will be in BR for the first time. This has been years in the making. We are flying in from San Diego,CA on Nov 4 and staying until sunday morning then heading to New Orleans. We would like to know what are the spots to hang out on Friday nite?Where are the tailgate areas where you can purchase food/drinks? We have tix for the game aswell. Thanx in advance for the suggestions.

Man there is a lot of great places to eat and little time.

Plan you meals so you get poboys, Cajun food and boudin balls. Definitely want to hit Chimes, it's 10 feet off campus.

Welcome!

Easy - there's FOUR PAGES of advice responses on this to 'wingsntots' 'First Time Visitor' right below your post on this page, and also to Arizona visitors 'Rivalry Tour from Arizona' farther down this page - page 2 actually...

Short answer:
- Walk-ons, Juban's, Pastime, or Phil's Friday night (unless you're in NOLA)
- Get to campus early. 7 am is NOT too early.
- Check out Parade Grounds, Union, Quad, Memorial Tower, Indian Mounds, Greek Theatre, tailgating EVERYWHERE
- Wear your team's colors so people will know you want some drink and best tailgating food on the planet.
- Check out Mike's Habitat, band playing in front of PMAC, LSU Band marching down Victory Hill
- Get to seats early, watch the best pregame in the Milky Way Galaxy..

Advice:
- walk around and enjoy the sights and sounds of gameday tailgating at LSU.
- be friendly with anyone who talks to you and you'll most likely get free food, alcohol, and some of the best hospitality you can imagine.
- DON'T wear red or crimson ...
- "Praw-Leens" not "Pray-leens"
- Geaux not Go
- have fun, scream your face off during the game, enjoy every minute and you'll have stories to tell friends and family back home.

Wear any gear you have from teams in this area and walk up to random tailgates, explain your situation, and talk about how much you hate the gumps.

You won't have to pay for any drinks or jambalaya the whole day Saturday.

You have to forgive these 'road scholars' as they like to correct everyone. One would think it is a fricken football forum, hence grammer and spelling would not be a top priority!

Geaux Tigers.........Enjoy BR!

Grammar and spelling should be of importance in every facet of your life.

For New Orleans advice, please post on the Food and Drink Board. They will give you significantly better advice on that than here.

Get a big cup of your favorite drink and enjoy campus on a Gameday. Head to Bengals & Bandits and grab an LSU shirt.

Food I enjoy:
The Chimes
Inga's - Steak sandwich
Louie's - Post bar
Zippy's - Nachos
Parrain's - Crawfish and Crab Au Gratin

Nightlife:
Downtown
TigerLand
L'Auberge Casino

While on campus it's fairly easy to mingle and talk LSU football and try food at tailgates. People are friendly and will welcome you in. Enjoy yourself!
