They do this every year. They know they're gone, but send out these little ambiguities at the end of the season and sit back with popcorn at all the implausible speculation about them coming back.

It's all negotiation tactics with agents. If you have them thinking going back to school is an option, they tend to cut percentage points off of their commissions.
