A thread about one thing: Joe Alleva

I want to reserve a thread for our boy Joe since I don't see one on Page 1. In my opinion, Joe Alleva is the blame in all of this.
1) his not firing Les in 2015 set us up for failure.
2) His 2016 "search" was a joke. One of the biggest mismanagements I've seen at LSU.
3) He got hoodwinked into hiring a known failure
4) He gave the known failure, who was BEGGING for the job, a $12M buyout. A terrible business decision in any business setting. When a person begs for a job you know it's because they aren't qualified. We can't even fire O if we wanted to at this point because of this. Ed O Buyout
5) Alleva has botched nearly everything he's touched, both here and at Duke.
6) He hoodwinked LSU into giving him a raise and an extension by leveraging a potential bid from University of Tennessee. We should've gladly let him walk.
7) if he isn't already, he will soon be tenured in the Louisiana System and will be paid by LA taxpayers for the rest of his life when he chooses to retire. I'm not sure of retirement salary he'll qualify for, but $1 is too much.
I hope the President and BOS realize what they've allowed to occur and who they've been paying big money for the decisions. Because they're complicit too.
We're in for a long decline fellas.
Thanks Joe!

How long is Coach O no under contract for?

Can someone link me to where the $12 million buyout stuff came from? I had never heard of this until after Saturday and it's everywhere, even people I work with here in Florida knew about it. Did it get mentioned in the game.............I stopped watching at a point.

He is either completely inept or intentionally trying to destroy LSU sports.

you guys act like Joe is the sole decision maker in all things LSU athletics, especially when it comes to hiring coaches.

You're right. I hadn't heard of it until Saturday either but when I finally found out my mind was blown.

Well, if the AD is not at least the primary decision maker in all things athletics, let's fire him and save some money.

Yeah Alleva needs to go for sure, but tbh, it kind of seem our fans are never happy with our AD. It's probably a little but tougher of a job than you think. And im sure there's a lot of info we dont have about how those decisions went down.

Didn't he say last year something along the lines of "I am the search"? I know he answers to the President and BOS... maybe we should be going after them? I mean that's more plausible, given most of the BOS longstanding Louisiana ties. Would make more sense given the crony political bullshite that goes on at my University and in my home state.

That's exactly what he said

I can 99% agree with this. But there's no reality where giving Ed O a $12M buyout is a smart business decision.
Posted on 9/18/17 at 9:23 am to Chicken
He's not the sole decision maker, but he is the key decision maker.

Agree. I don't think Alleva is the entire problem but I am 100% sure he is clearly part of the issue. He needs to go regardless of the higher ups that have influence over big decisions. I'd like to see Alexander flushed as well and a few of the other supervisors.

Holy shite, Joe, why? NO ONE was trying to pull Orgeron away from LSU.
Who's Ed's agent? Best in the business, by FAR.

Yeah he's no doubt made some crappy buyout decisions. I remember when he offered les that insane extension and raise after the 2012 season.

They are a major part of the problem, but realistically nothing can be done about them with JBE in the governor's office.

Alleva wanted Les fired in 2015. You can thank F. King for that missed opportunity.
