A theory. Just a theory.

Aranda comes to LSU. Make sense on a lot of levels. But he comes with some level of uncertainty about Miles' future, and thus his own.
Could it be that Miles asked for (or was given) one more year to right the program with the understanding that he would step down after the 2016 season? He would have a loaded team with maturing talent (Fournette, Harris, Key, Adams, etc) ready to compete for a championship, and leave the cupboard full for his successor.
And then could it be that Tom Herman is positioned to make the jump to LSU after the 2016 season to take over for Miles (perhaps Miles becomes AD), and there is his former college friend already in place, having establishing a strong, powerful defense and keeping continuity with the program.
Makes sense to me.

Thought of this exact scenario. If they sign Cam to just 1 year or bring in a young stud OC, it really could be the case.

Miles is not an AD.
No, just no...
No, just no...

Miles would need some motivation to resign with all that money on the table. Maybe, maybe not. But I could see making that trade.

If he wins a natty he's not going anywhere

Nice theory but don't forget this outfit couldn't dismiss someone less than 30 days ago....far too much credit for the Gang that Couldn't Shoot Straight

You know Miles just straight told Joe he is gonna take his job next year. You just know he did.

If he wins 9 games again he's not going anywhere. They can't even offer basic engineering courses every semester at LSU.

Not out of the question. However, Jamal Adams and Fournette will be gone.

I don't think Les has any desire to be the AD.
In a dream world, I would love to see Les with the Championship next year and then hang it up, Herman is brought in, and then he stays for 15 years winning 3 Championships along the way.
I think Alleva gets a bad wrap on here. I think he's a good AD, and I hope he sticks around for a while.
The one I want GONE is Alexander, for multiple reasons, the athletic program being just one of them.

The administration couldn't even handle Miles' alleged firing properly. You think they're this far ahead in their panning?

Ashamed I graduated from Rummel today

I agree. But, when the Jimbo deal fell through, if they went to Herman as their Plan B and he told them, "not right now" that plan could have easily fell into place.
I don't buy the whole 3rd quarter meeting during the A&M game being the deciding factor on keeping Miles. I think they intend to make change. The boosters mades that very clear. But they had to do something to quell the sh*tstorm they created.
This is a not a big stretch, considering the smooth nature of the Aranda hire.

Econ degree - maybe he could be a special assistant and run a cost analysis on the contraflow, and if there might be a more cost effective and efficient way to clear 125k people from a space that was designed about 100 years ago.
