Recruiting classes are fragile. This one, which was really good, could fall apart in a second.

This doesn't look like a 'put pressure on Les Miles' set of moves. I can't imagine how the athletic department could keep Miles now unless something unexpected happens.

You can't put Miles on the spot like this, watch his recruiting class fall apart and then shrug it off and wish Miles luck in 2016.

Yea, but USCE and USEW have already fired their coaches...so they're already in the hunt.

Those dickheads can surely do that without even blinking and act like they don't know what the big deal is.
Alleva is a big problem.

The guaranteed openings include USC, Miami and Virginia Tech. That's a banner 'coaching changes' year.

Add in South Carolina, possibly Georgia, possibly Texas... those are a lot of huge programs vying for the same (small) pool of head coaching prospects.

Add in the inevitable NFL coaching changes, which could open up Notre Dame, and this year could completely shift the landscape of college football.

This is correct. I've never had any respect for Alleva. He left the players out to twist in the wind at Duke and he's doing the same thing here. The man has no sense of honor. Miles deserves better than this.

Like judging a team mid year, tihisis unfair to the process. You can't judge a painting halfway done or a project halfway completed. This was never going to be pretty. Stop and think about it.

Les saw the contracts being limited past 2016. He saw Chavis take a hike. He saw having to settle for Steele. He saw Cam's renewal he went to bat for being rebuffed during the season. All of this and Les made no changes to how he plays, how his offense looks or how it plays. Nothing. No changes at all.

So of course you can't expect this guy to do anything but double down once we get to this point. He only knows how to do things one way...and that's the hard way. It's been enough for him to be successful in the past and he will always try to do it the same way.

So just be patient and let this process work itself out. You may have a point. You may not. But at this point it's just too early to tell.

LSU is using the Jimbeaux smoke screen to perfection.

Gary patterson will be announced at LSU HC next week.

Problem is what if LSU can't get their first or even second guy that's on their list that they are wanting?

There are a lot of coaching jobs open this year with USC being one of them.

I don't have any insider sources, but I do suspect the "Jimbaux" stuff is a little too easy.

Gary Patterson would be a good hire. There are a few other coaches out there who would be really good hires, as well.

I think coaches like Herman or Fuente would be a damned good head coach in a year or two, once he's acclimated to the pressures of the massive job HC at LSU football is.

Wrong. Do you honestly think that Les was going to just walk away from 15 million dollars and leave it just laying on the table?

Well his buyout would have gone down to 9 after 2016 fyi. But thats kinda not relevant since he won't be here next year.
