I'm not saying we cut and run on him just yet, I actually haven't formed any specific opinion on the subject. I'm just curios how most of you would feel about this:

Les is fired mid season, Coach O is promoted to interim HC as many of you have suggested. He wins out or comes close to it, and the team rallies around him (essentially the '13 USC situation all over again).

Provided he retains defensive staff, and hires some great Off and Special Teams staff (I think keeping Craig and Juluke would be a good idea though), would you want Coach O to get the permanent head coaching gig?

If they play dominate football and Herman isn't an option by that I mean he just doesn't want in, then yes I would be fine with that. I think he would try much harder to get this team where it rightfully belongs at the TOP!

No.

I love coach O, but he was an abject failure as a head coach. Perhaps he improved, but LSU is not the place to prove it. Interim success has been a poor indicator of long term viability.

Yes, the guy can recruit like a beast. And if he can get any offense going, he can lead us into the next era and maybe win a national championship with our talent.

My issue with terminating now would be we need a OC that could be effective without the benefit of summer practices.

You'd probably have to fire Les and Cam and let Craig be OC. Maybe he could turn it around offensively.

Yes, this team would immediately be better instantly.

Probably not. I think LSU should hire someone else.

Only if Herman and Jimbo tell us no first

I still think this is the best scenario. Jimbo has head coach and Herman is OC.

I would be ok with it. He's a great recruiter, and I think he's learned a lot from his time at Ole Miss and then when he thought he would get the SC job. I feel like he would be a good hire, if he keeps Aranda and Raymond, Craig(maybe as OC) and Juluke. He would just need a good ST coordinator that specializes in LB's or DL, and a really good QB coach.

if that were to occur then yes. but if we keep les than fire him at the end of the year and then hire coach O without looking at anyone else, then no, I wouldn't think that is smart.

Herman isn't an OC anymore.

Jimbo was never and is never coming here. Why would he leave Florida state? Don't believe the bullshite, he was using a dumb athletic department for negotiation leverage.

Herman may come, but I'd say let the season play out.

To be honest. I'm hesitant to Beleive this team is better without miles. Sure they could change the play calling but they can't change that the wasted practice time. It would all essentially have to be implemented in the next two weeks.

ETA: better without miles THIS season.

Absolutely he should get the opportunity to win the job! We have some guys we have to make tell us no, though. But, Coach O could work here. Great recruiter and motivator. As long as he hired strong coordinators, then he would certainly be an improvement over Miles.

Lol why would Jimbo come here when he had just received a ton of money and job security at Florida state from winning a national championship. Why? You think our bank accounts are bigger than FSU? Is that it?

Let the season play out, why?

So the talented team can hopefully back into a 9 win season despite Les' ineptitude and save his job?

So he can get his first losing season next year after all the upperclassmen leave?

No thanks.
