Incoming Class 14 (*=Drafted)

*Will LaMarche RHP Jr. (LSU)
*Alex Bregman 2B Fr. (LSU)
Hunter Devall LHP Fr.

Andrew Stevenson OF Fr.
Jamie McClure RHP Jr
Christian Ibarra INF Jr.

With the incoming class (13) and the potential players who have eligibility left (26) obviously there will be 4-5 players on the chopping block this summer.

Guys such as Strickland, Trent, Fields, and Berry need to have standout summers or their days may very well be numbered in light of being past up on the depth chart.

My very very early stab at a potential lineup. I'm inserting Rhmyes at DH for now

1B-Moore (So.)
2B-Bregman (Fr.)
SS-Jones (Jr.)
3B-Powell (So.)
LF-McMullen (Jr.)
CF-Sciambra (So.)
RF-Katz (Sr.)
C-Ross (Jr.)
DH-Rhymes (Sr.)

Fri-Nola (So.)
Sat-Eades (Jr.)
Sun-Broussard (Jr.)
MW-Glenn (So.)/Sewald (Fr.)
Bullpen-Cotton (Sr.)/Bonvillain (Sr.)/Bourgeios(Sr.)
Closer-Rumbelow (Jr.)/LaMarche (Jr.)

I have a feeling that Cotton will finish the season as a starter.

Any impression on whether they pull a few kids from JUCO this summer?

LSU-Eunice won the D3 national championship so it is a possibility some of them will transfer to LSU-BR

If they do I see it being an INF bat.

Yes both can be steady .275-.300 hitters at the college level.

Fields. Fields. Fields. I would love to see Fields do well but .203 is awful.

McCune will have a role somewhere. He had some struggles this year, but he didn't forget how to pitch.

Correct, I'm not listing every pitcher though.

Need to go get a big bat at one of the corners.

Adam, I asked in an earlier thread about Terrence Magee, any chance he comes back to the diamond next year? If I recall correctly he was a pretty high draft pick.

Adam, how would you compare Sewald to Nola? Could he perform similar to what Nola did this year?

I would be shocked, for now he's sticking with football.

Nola's arm coming out of high school was much more electric with his compliment of off speed pitches. Tiger fans shouldn't expect Sewald to come in and dominate games the way Nola did this year, but with a year of experience and a full season under Dunn Mitchell has a bright bright future. To go along with that tall 6'5 frame Sewald will be a vital piece of LSU's rotation for years to come.

Powell is the guy I'm most interested to see. Really wonder if he can produce at the plate and be good enough at 3B that we don't feel the need to put a Helenihi there.

Assuming that's the starters what would your lineup be next year?

1. Sciambra
2. Jones
3. Katz
4. Bregman
5. Rhymes
6. Ross
7. Moore
8. McMullen
9. Powell

?

Next year LSU will most likely send out 3-4 daily.

1. Sciambra
2. Jones
3. Katz
4. Bregman
5. Rhymes
6. Ross
7. Moore
8. McMullen
9. Powell

I like that lineup. Making a few changes I'd like to see

1. Sciambra L
2. Bregman R
3. Katz R
4. Rhymes R
5. Ross R
6. Jones R
7. Moore L
8. McMullen L
9. Powell R
