Unlike with the NCAAT, the "Simmons factor" would definitely be in play for the NIT selection. It is a meaningless exhibition tournament that no one watches or cares about. They need all the help they can get in attracting viewers. LSU is getting in because of Simmons even if they lose to UT.

On that note, I really couldn't care less if LSU does or does not make the NIT. It's not an accomplishment. It's the "Birmingham Bowl" of college basketball

the only talent on the team is Simmons and Blakeney, no one else is any more talented than anyone the teams that we play put out there

Victor has been much better than anticipated and Hornsby is a very solid guard in the SEC.

Jones recruited these guys so if they aren't talented enough then that is on him as the recruiting guru. There is no defending him for this season.

You mean the same cake team that beat LSU by 16 points a few weeks ago?

If they're not making the NCAA, then I don't care if they don't make the NIT.

Almost like there was another part of his post.

Should be a cake game for LSU
How do you figure? We just lost to them by 15+ and they didn't even have their best player, Kevin Punter. He's a top 10 PG in all of NCAA. If we win I'd be shocked. We sucked then, we suck now.

TENN 85
LSU 68

He's out today too, and did you not read the rest of his post?

They are also a much different team away from home (so is LSU). Tenn is 14-4 at home wins over UK and USC. They are 1-11 on the road
