I won't be able to catch the beginning of the game so I will DVR it. With the ARK and AUB game starting at 5 I'm guessing our game won't start at 8 on ESPN? Will the game start on ESPN News? I guess to be safe I should record both channels? Thanks!

It all depends on what channels they have open at the time.

Last night Gordy Rush said he received a message from ESPN saying the start would be "sliding to 8:15" and they expect it to be later than that

frick that. no football game should be moved back from an 8pm start. 8pm is the absolute latest it should kick. frick ESPN and their programming log jam.

a 3 hour window between kickoffs isnt reasonable in college football.

should be 3.5 hr minimum. I can't believe they still space out games 3 hours apart

Deuce just said on 104.5 that the NCAA has to do something about the length of the games. Well hell I'm not sure what to do. I guess I will pick ESPN News as the back up plan.

Thought about the exact same shite. The AU/Arky game will go way past 8:30, IMO.

Unfortunately, you're correct. Games are running waaaaaaaay too long.

They need to quit all the damn TV/commercial break time outs!! Networks are lazy, they could easily sneak in way more single 30 second commercial spots through out a game than cramming them into 4 minute breaks as planned TV timeouts.

It's ridiculous you need more than 3 hours to play a 60 minute game. More bullshite from ESPN and the rest of the networks. The bitched about LSU marketing Ben Simmons yet they try to cram as many freaking advertisements into these games to make money off amateur athletes.

The ESPN link provided by BlackHelicopterPilot shows the starting time as 9:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. However, we are still in Daylight Savings Time (and will be for another 2 weeks). Translated, 9:00 PM Eastern Standard Time means:

10:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time, and
9:00 PM Central Daylight Time.

If the ESPN site is correct (and I don't think it is), then the game won't start until 9:00 PM Baton Rouge time.

For the record, I went to my Cox Guide, and it clearly shows the start time locally (New Orleans) as 8:00 PM on Saturday night. I'll plan my viewing time accordingly.
