Definitely a big improvement from USCe. Still had some 1-and-1 front end misses in the first half, but hopefully we keep shooting FTs like this.

Yea the front end misses are tough.

But making free throws down the stretch won the game for us.

His improvement has been remarkable.

In his first 9 games he was 27/58 or 46.6%. In his last 8 games he is 26/32 or 81.3%.

He and Simmons were both 8/9 today.

Yea, I can't believe Victor's improvement at the line. He actually looks comfortable up there and I feel confident when he steps up to the line. He went 1-10 his first ten FTS this season

He's actually got a nice looking jump shot (albeit slow release).

Victor is solid from the line. He's been great since his garbage first game.

Does anyone have our home vs road FT percentage?

Quite surprisingly, 66.5% at home and 66.8% on the road.

However, considering we've played well at home and many of the FTs are intentional fouls in the waning minutes against some of our poorer FT shooters, I guess it isn't that surprising.

If this team can do this consistently, especially at the end of games, they definitely have a long tournament run in them.

He is much better now, but that first game wasn't his only stinker. If you remove that first game, he was still 26/48 in his next 8 games. He'd have to miss his next 16 FTAs to get his average that low considering his last 8 games.

I really wish college would adopt more NBA rules and do away with the 1 and 1s.

Since Jones took a lot of crap and blame from several posters for the team's poor FT shooting vs SC, should I expect those same posters to come here and heap lavish praise on him for the good shooting today?

How long should I wait?

Very nice. It dropped from 85 percent when Quarterman missed the last 2 FT in the last minute.

1 and 1 is the dumbest rule in college basketball. Each free throw is an independent trial, how can more emphasis be placed on the first free throw? It would be like not having a second down unless you gained 5 yards on your first down.

Johnny must've coached so much better today and yesterday. Good for him.

Really though, those kinds of numbers win you a lot of games.
