2016 Wally Pontiff Classic vs. Cajuns

I know this game is months away but I'm really looking forward to the match-up again this season. Cajuns and LSU both ranked pretty highly to start the season. Would be cool to both be in the Top 10 when this game gets here.
Last year's crowd was great for the game and from talking to some of you guys at the game, it was the best Pontiff crowd you've seen in years likely due to the match-up.
Cajuns pitching staff will be our strong suit without a doubt this year. Offense will be in question as we lost some key players. But we did retain our top two hitters avg. wise and gained a few potential breakout JUCO transfers. I know you guys lost a ton of position players but what is your outlook on the Tigers this year?
I think the Cajuns could be hosting another Regional in Lafayette this year if everything shakes out like expected. But it's baseball, so you never know. Would be interesting if we met again in the post-season.
Rankings by Poll so far...
Collegiate Baseball
UL #6
LSU #7
D1Baseball
LSU #7
UL #18
Perfect Game
LSU #5
UL #10

Could've sworn I saw that Louisville was preseason #2. I must've looked at it wrong...

Saw that one coming a mile away.
Anyway, what's the Tigers pitching situation looking like? I know all the bats will be new.

Bought tickets for this after getting Ticketmaster e-mail on Monday. Tickets are moving much faster than prior years (vs. USM) due to 2016 match-up.

Mate we have a top 30 basketball program and the #1 pick in the draft - were not focusing on college baseball right now

Will be the strength of the team. Freshman All-American Alex Lange is back and #2 starter Jared Poche is back as well. Also have very promising arms behind them. Offense will be the question mark but there is a lot of young talent.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking. Hard to believe Lange was a Freshman last year. That dude is the real deal.

We'll treat this like any other series. Not that big of a deal. It's only competitive in y'all's eyes.

Since when is Louisville's mascot the Cajuns? Could've sworn they were the Cardinals, genius.

Yep. This guy started a thread in January about a midweek baseball game, but he's trying to downplay it like it's not ULL's most important game of the year.

Exactly. This is a midweek game, and ranks somewhere around the 34th or so most important game on LSU's schedule in importance, definitely after the SEC conference games.
