I would add Zack Jackson who was probably the most valuable pitcher in the league last year in terms of what he had to do to help his team compete.

Yea, I was just pulling guys off the top of my head. The pitching talent this year is ABSURD.

Does anyone who has made it out to practice have any insight on Jesse Stallings? Apparently, Russ Springer taught him a slider and he isn't short-striding and flying open any more. How has he looked?

He's still getting crushed. Worst WHIP on the team

I don't put a ton of stock in the scrimmage stats because Mainieri sort of plays with the scenarios. That being said, it certainly isn't a good thing that he's giving up almost 3 Walks/Hits an inning.

I agree with way too much of your prediction

Team
Overall Record: 38-18
SEC Record: 16-14
First Loss: Ball St.
First SEC Loss: Alabama
First Series Loss: @Texas A&M
Postseason: Super Regionals

Hitters
Most HR: Deichmann (8)
Highest BA: Fraley (.332)
Highest OBP: Bryce Jordan (0.384)
Most K: Deichmann
Most SB: Freeman

Pitchers
Most K: Lange
Most W: Lange
Most SV: Bugg

I do think if Riley Smith isn't used in the Sunday spot they may check him out at closer.

But he'll still close games out at times

Why do you say that? My impression was he has commanded his fastball much better in the last two weeks. One thing is for sure, if we're going to win on our arms, we need someone who can close tight games.

Without question I do know both Mainieri and Dunn do not have a closer locked in with 2 days left to go. It will sort itself out by SEC play.

Spring ball scrimmage radar gun velocities can be very deceiving...

Hitting 90 is one thing. Averaging 85-86 is more telling.

They do, out of Lange, Poche, Smith, Bain, and Valek there shouldn't be any worry to wrangle up a third and fourth starter.

Lookout for Caleb Gilbert too.

But Cotton was always at that velo... Bugg was sitting 89-92 his first two years here.

Chris' hair played a huge roll in compensating for that sub 90 fastball. Parker doesn't have the same follicular advantage.
