2016 Campaign: Positives, Not-So-positives and TBD's

Positive turn-of-events for 2016 campaign (generally considered):
1) Miles Recruited most key Jr's to stay for 2016
2) Aranda is a very boss hire
3) Miles and staff recruited the class of the decade
4) Retained Coach O
Not-So-Positive turn-of-events (and potential issues) for 2016 campaign:
1) The loss of Coach Wilson (stud RB coach and recruiting coordinator - edit: agree this is more of a long term impact than '16)
2) Bradley Dale Paveto retained - coaching special teams?
3) Cam Cameron being retained (most wanted a new OC), and same-ole-same-ole?
4) Miles and staff unable to get their top targeted QB's in recruiting class (thus far)
TBD's for 2016 campaign:
1) Harris growth in field vision, footwork, accuracy and touch?
2) Cam and Les able to modify offense?
3) Someone to step up and coach the damn special teams?
4) A Surprise QB in the class.
5) Other "boom" recruits?
6) Sloppiness improved? (timeout managements, poor DB communication, penalties)
Other considerations:
1) Favorable schedule for toughest games (Ole Miss, Bama)
2) Depth and Talent are very strong.
3) Team is hungry to improve after embarrasing 2015 campaign

I believe we have new life here. Something changed after that A&M game. Its like the fire is back with Miles and Co. I think we will see the real mad hatter next year.

Agree with most
Disagree with Frank Wilson's departure hurting 2016
The class is locked up and fournette and guice will be hoss' no matter who the RB coach is. An RB coach is a dime a dozen at this level.
Frank will be missed but not next years 2016 production

Miles' teams always seem to be a bit sloppy. If he can get them to play with swagger like the 2010-2012 teams, sloppiness won't be a problem.
If Cam stays on the sidelines, I'm thinking the clock management will do a 180
DB's were young and Aranda is said to have a way to relate to the players like no other.
Penalties were bad, but the pre-snap penalties are what kicked us in the balls the most, IMO. They were drive killers. That is almost exclusively on the o-line

I also think the running game and O-line will be even better in 2016. Not that they were the Achilles heel this year, but it'll be a big factor in next year's success.

I watch other teams and wonder why we don't use more misdirection. With the weapons and speed we have, it seems like we could do some TE or slot reverses (like the one against Bama a few years ago), bootlegs, and some counters. When you fake a hand off to the left, there's always that guy open out in the right flat.

If Harris has accuracy and touch and field vision, LSU is undefeated.

I agree. If Cam stays on the sideline, play calling and also getting lined up will go WAY more smoothly. I believe a lot of those presnap penalties were resultant of linemen feeling rushed. Seemed to me they were uncomfortable.
In the Tech game, I dont even remember a presnap penalty. Everyone was lined up with plenty of time to read the defense and audible if needed.

Qb and OC are the two biggest things plaguing this team and they didn't/won't get fixed. I'm not going to get excited until I see evidence on the field. As far as I'm concerned this is the same ole same ole. We wil all be very disappointed when we continue to see offensive woes and tons of talent wasted.

I am hoping Miles FINALLY understands that he just got a HUGE get out of jail free card from "King", and that he "gets it" that he cannot placate the masses with improvement in other areas. The changes that have been made are strong (Aranda, especially), but if the QB and playcalling are not VERY improved, Miles will held accountable for the first real time since he has been at LSU. I can certainly appreciate your "I'll believe it ONLY when I see it" perspective, as most Tiger fans (while hopeful) have seen this movie several dozen times. Let's hope for the best!

Cam being retained is not necessarily a bad thing if he and Les are finally willing to make some changes to the offense. Last thing you want is to change OC on a guy that finished his first year as a starter and is entering his junior year and our best chance to win a natty. What's imperative is that some changes are made, which they claimed they will do after visiting some other teams spread philosophy. Peveto may not be a good ST coach, but I would keep him for recruiting alone. He has earned his money with these recruits.
