That OOC schedule is a lot better than what we had seen over most of the last decade

Oklahoma finished the year a top 20 RPI team. Wake Forest finished near the bottom of the ACC. Houston finished near the bottom of the AAC.

We're going to need to perform well in the Legends classic to boost the RPI as well as not have any bad losses to the scrubs on the schedule.

Wake Forest will be WAYYYY better this year. Danny Manning!!

Also, Houston will likely be improved as well.

Any idea when the College of Charleston game would be?

Let's hope so. Because outside of OU and one, maybe two games in the Legends Classic, on paper the OOC schedule isn't overly impressive. Of course that could change depending on who the last couple of teams added to the schedule are.

The SEC looks like it may take a downturn in quality next year (UK, Ark., UGA, OM all look to be down compared to last season), so getting "good" wins in conf. may be at a premium. LSU had some ugly losses last year and a relatively low RPI for a tournament team, but they were a 9 seed due to the fact they were 6-1 (4 wins on the road) against other NCAAT teams. They may not be able to survive 4 losses to the bottom of the SEC with fewer opportunities for big wins out there.

Overall I think this schedule will be a small improvement over the past couple years. Just hope we dont finish the last two games off with sub 300 RPI teams.

This is about as good of an OOC slate as we can hope for.

Gotta love all of the posters on here (who know next to nothing about basketball) who think that the likes of Kansas, Duke, UNC are all itching to play LSU.

I disagree that it's as good as we can hope for. There is room for improvement on that schedule even if we aren't getting powerhouse program to come to the PMAC.

What a lot of people don't understand is teams with good rpi's don't usually get them from playing a bunch of top 25 rpi teams. They build it up by beating a bunch of teams between 50-150. That combined with not playing many or any 200+ rpi teams.

In an interview with Scout.com in March, Eddie Nunez said

Eddie Nunez: The biggest thing is we’ve got a home-and-home starting with Wake Forest next year. Next year’s game will be at home for us. We also have the back end of the College of Charleston. We’re looking at a couple of in-state schools for some guaranteed games. And then we’re actually in discussion, I’d say right now, with two other schools within the Big Five conferences for home-and-home contests. (One of the schools is in the Big Ten, Nunez went on to say.)

Hopefully they were able to get two quality opponents!

Out of the available teams, I would've liked to play Belmont, they're usually a solid mid-major.

It sure wouldn't have been much to ask to have had us play Belmont. Someone dropped the ball there.

Not exactly how it works... The other 8 host teams in that tournament probably all wanted the good lower level teams... We weren't the only ones.

Hopefully they will fill the last two spots with decent opponents, like you mentioned earlier. When will we know if Victor will be cleared for fall, or have to wait until the semester ends to play?

I have no clue the timeline. No one has talked about it.

I just don't get it. We can put a man on the moon, we can split the atom, but we can't decide if Victor gets a hardship exemption to play this fall. Damn NCAA
