I think that ZM will have as good a chance as anybody like the last couple of winners that come out of no where.

Our O will put up big numbers running which should open our passing game and he should be very productive. If our final record is impressive, we could have ourselves a winner.

I agree, and we have a great example of last year for what the team would achieve without him.

I think this trend will continue. Guys like Bo and Hershal had to come back for their senior years, so everyone knew they would be front runners.

And now that TM7 isn't here anymore, somebody from LSU has to get that fame, if not Mett I would put my money on ODBJ3

Is it just me that thinks we should at least let him start is first game at LSU, before we talk about him and the Heisman. Maybe it is just the fact that I don't really care about the Heisman. Yes it would be great for an LSU player to win it, but I'm only worried about repeating as SEC champs. After that everything will work it self out

Dudes is gonna be legit, I'm sick of hearing all this talk, let him play a game first. Dude is gonna be a top 3 SEC QB, bank that...

Oh I think he will be very good too, but I don't get the Heisman talk when the man has thrown a total of 11 passes at LSU and hasn't started a game. Just let the man play, and enjoy the offense with him as QB

All I am saying is that with his surrounding cast, he has as good a chance as any if he stays healthy and produces half of what the rant expects.

There are some things I'm sick of hearing, but this isn't it. I like hearing good things about an LSUQB for a change.

No chance like RG3 at the beginning of last yr?

You bet your arse he has the ingredients.

He plays for one of the right teams, will get all the air time he could hope for because this TM7 story line won't go away, plays the right position, has the supporting cast, has a run first offense that will allow his passes to high percentage completions and YAC all adding up to pretty good stats. Throw in what should be a great record, with possibly 2 extra games and more exposure. And, if I remember correctly, the last SEC transplant QB managed to do quite well for himself and his team!

Hasn't thrown a ball as the LSU QB that matters.

Of course he's heisman material!

He should have a chance if the media can stop drooling over Matt Barkley.

Well here is what we know, CLM is pretty stuborn when it comes to QB's, so now that he has labeled ZM as the starter, even if he gets hurt, you will probably see him out there with a cast and in a wheel chair before you see Rivers. ZM will get his opportunity and he has been throwing balls to LSU receivers for over a yr. If you saying that North Texas or Ole Miss or any team on our schedule have a better D than the one that he practices against every day, I'm willing to place my bet that he does alright.

maybe if we had last years non conference schedule but him putting up hugh numbers against idaho, towson, and north texas isn't going to do him any good, hell he will probably be pulled early 3rd quarter for rivers or someone else in those games.

No chance he puts up the number Griffin put up last year.

has a run first offense

Which will end up being the downfall of his Heisman campaign.

Mett is nothing like Newton. Even if he puts up better passing numbers than Newton did, he can't hold a candle to the rushing stats.

I like what the kid brings to the table, but the offense that LSU runs will not allow a QB to win the Heisman (see Russell, 2006).

Herschel left after his junior season. He was top 3 in Heisman voting all three years he played.

Montee Ball got ripped off in the voting last season. One of the greatest seasons ever by a running back. He will have a say in this years Heisman as well.
