Both teams went 8-5

Both teams had blowout losses:
2008 (51 points to Florida, 52 to UGA)
2014 (near 50 points to AU, crushed up by Arky )

If these 2 teams played each other, who would win. 2014 team finished somewhat strong at the end of season vs 2008 which had a bad season ending but won bowl game 38-3 while 2014 lost 28-31

2014 would win, just based on a better OLine giving LF7 a solid ground game.

does 2014 really have a better OL? 08:

LT - Ciron
LG - Herm
C - Helms
RG - Hitt
RT - Barksdale

Chuck went for 1000+ behind em, Keiland had a nice ypc too. and we had Quinn at FB.

if Les coaches 08 with as much of a ground and pound attitude as he did this past yr, not sure we don't eke out another game or 2 that yr. even with that defense

2008: Defense was horrible that year. We really weren't competitive in losses to UF, UGA or OM. Almost lost to Troy. Barely beat a bad Auburn team. Lost to a bad Arky team.

2014: Rough loss at the barn, not competitive against Arky, but we were down to the wire with State, Bama and ND. (although the score looked better than reality against Staaaate)

14' was the far better team IMO.

The '08 offense with the '14 defense and ST probably wins 10 games; 10-3 overall. With the '14 defense, Lee isn't called upon to throw nearly so much and what was a good running game would certainly have been utilized more. That's not to say I believe the '08 offense was drastically better than the '14 offense. It's apples and oranges because the '14 schedule appears to have been more difficult IMO.
IMO, in a matchup between the two groups, the '14 team would have run all over that porous defense and the '14 defense would have slowed down the '08 offense, possibly forcing too many throws from Lee and you know how that often turned out.
24-17, '14 over '08.

The OL vs DL match up is favorable for 2014 is what I meant.

The 2014 team would have beaten the 2008 team by two scores at least. The SEC is much better top to bottom now than 2008.

That year had a loaded Florida team, a loaded Ole Miss team led by Houston Nutt ( ), and a hilariously overrated Alabama team. that's about it, though Georgia had Moreno.

LSU's secondary this season would have feasted on freshman Lee. That season was so bad, I learned at an early age to booze prior and understand it's just a game.

As far as predictions, I'd go with 2014, 27-13
