The only thing they would have to do is if they wanted a medical so he could get a fifth year

He hasn't played so he can just take a normal redshirt without having to apply for anything and go through the medical hoops.

Our pitching is much deeper than many SEC teams and other top 15 teams for that matter.

This. We all knew once we got to SEC play things wouldn't be as smooth as they were early on. Our staff is still young, but they're improving every week.

Broski, I agree with you that fatigue is not Godfrey's problem. And if it was, he's just had two very light weeks.

His problem is that his control is barely enough to be a viable pitcher. And if it slips a little he's screwed. He's probably very close to being dominant.

With Latz out for the year we're not going anywhere without Jake Godfrey.

Did I miss it? Is latz really announced out for the year?

Pretty much. CPM commented in a Morning Advocate column that Latz was experiencing some difficulties. He said "might not pitch this year".

Latz not being around will really show up in any game 3 or 4's we play in in the post season IMO. It's unfortunate because this is a championship caliber lineup but the pitching depth will ultimately do this team in IMO. I just hope we make it to Omaha this time around instead of bounced in our own regional. If only Marshall would have made it or Latz not gotten hurt. Team would have been just nasty in both aspects.

Then shouldn't Anthony Jennings get the same slack?

First off, don't bring football into a baseball thread, secondly, Jennings has played 2 seasons at LSU and is a junior this year.

It's amazing that our top three freshman (Marshall, Latz, and Deichmann's) haven't playef/left and we're still this strong. Just imagine if all three came in with what we expected them to be.
