It is simply too much money. LSU would be the laughing stock of the sports world... not to mention how bad it would look since the university is being hit with huge budget cuts. This is a business decision and the real world knows that is a deal breaker. For those of you with champagne taste and beer budgets (read: immature and unrealistic) that think that money just grows on trees, it doesn't. Weathy LSU supporters that have that kind of money didn't get it by throwing it at stupid investments or issues. You can only go to that "well" a few times and those requests really need to be for very good reasons. There are a TON of very positive statistics that make firing Miles a bad idea right now.
The 2015 season for LSU was not picked by anyone to be as good as LSU APPEARED TO BE at 7-0. The reason for that are the same reasons that the team has struggled with the inexperienced players that we have all over the field. The early departures to the NFL make LSU look very good to recruits, but it comes with a steep price to the team put on the field each year.
Having said all of that, Miles really needs to be more flexible and open to change NOW and probably needs to make major changes to the OC and DC and special teams. And since Miles is very smart, all of this heat directly on him will make those changes easier this year.
But it could happen. Irrational things happen all the time.

The $15 million dollar buyout clause in Miles' contract will not be a hindrance for TAF, the athletic program's powerful booster club that funds a lot of the athletic programs for LSU, according to the source. "The money is there", the source said.

Multiple "sources" have said while the buyout will be difficult it is not going to stop the powers that be from making a change.

Let's not start getting all pre-cummy over what "a source" says...

While it is a BIG number, have you thought about the money that our current coach is costing us in bowl money last year, this year, and more than likely next year? Insignificant bowls pay much less...

What DC/OC are going to come here? Seriously?

The writing is all over the fricking wall; I don't need a "source" to tell that the change is coming. It's already decided. It's happening; deal with it.

You need to learn about the bowl payout system.

Hanagriff said last night we would not have to pay the total sum at once.
We would pay it down over the next 7 years
